Ooobie on Everything

The New Year Begins with More Nothingburgers

The New Year begins with no signs of imminent economic collapse, world war, or social chaos. I say that despite the nuclear attack alarm that went off “by mistake” in Democrat One-Party State Hawaii, leading people to hide their babies in drain pipes. Admittedly, a few Democrat loonies (redundant) insisted it was all Trump’s fault. I guess that means that if Obama was in office and they got a nuclear alert, they’d just make a p and j sandwich and relax with a tall glass of milk.

No matter how hard the Democrats tried, no calamities materialized, except the mudslide that sullied the homes of the ultra-rich, including the multi-homed Oprah Winfrey. Trump has annoyed North Korea’s Adored Leader so much that the latter is trying to kiss and make up with a very responsive South Korea, the entire government of which were said to have simultaneously wet their pants on hearing about how much bigger Trump’s button was. Rocket Man has gone so far as to permit his athletes to frolic at the Olympics with the arbiters of world opinion, thus transforming North Korea into nothing more than a member of the world community with a starving population where the army must forage for its own food. That special guest status, or status of any kind at the Olympics, has been denied to Russia, by the way, which has had all its athletes banned from competing because of a few bad apples. The rapprochement of North and South would appear to be in everybody’s best interests, and perhaps Rocket Man can do something spectacular to shame Trump, like personally winning for the highest pole vault. If we talk North Korea, we must talk China. Trump the Rude and Overly Direct managed to shame or perhaps frighten China, previously inscrutable on the subject of North Korea,  into having a word with Rocket Man, who would not ordinarily decide overnight that he wanted to suck up to the running dogs of imperialism and puppets of the American neo-imperialist colonizers. So it was kind of a 2-for-1 win on The Donald’s part.

The best part: if the North and South decide they like each other better than they like Americans, we could finally, at last, take our troops home from South Korea, a rich and increasingly smug little country that has fattened on the endless influx of US defense dollars and might. That money could be better spent doing transgender operations on members of our Armed Forces.

Regarding Russia, the Fairy Tale that has put most of us to sleep each night for what seems forever is losing its attraction. All the evidence that any half-true story has would by now have been trumpeted at every turn, but no. Instead it is petty crimes or entrapments that occupy Mueller, provided only that they have nothing to do with Russia or Trump. And even though they have no proof of their lurid fantasies, even if the story is a lie from one end to the other, all the Never-Trumpers insist that the fabrication “has the ring of truth”.

The rich irony is that, while the charge of Russian collusion with the Trumpists has failed utterly to pan out, the facts that are surfacing right and left are screaming Democrat/Clintonian conspiracy and collusion. Their goal was to tarnish irretrievably Trump’s candidacy. The possibility of a presidency was far-fetched, but by banding together cross-agency and intra-agency to form a clandestine network of activists, they could even destroy an unacceptable presidency. In pursuing their goals, these cretins utilized paid and/or bogus foreign sources, Russians and Brits, to surface damning false “revelations” about Trump to ensure Hillary the White House or take it from Trump, God forbid. As far as I’m concerned, there are a bunch of people in DOJ, FBI, IRS and other agencies who need to be under investigation and under indictment.

Now the other Clinton scandals, so long hidden, rotting, under the carpet, are seeing the light of day and the stink is horrendous. The first of what hopefully will be many crooks has fallen to an indictment in connection with the curious case of Uranium One. Perhaps this will feed the other investigation into the Clinton (Political Slush Fund) Foundation that seems to be underway.

On the down side, it seems possible that senile Pelosi will once again be at the helm of our hapless, useless, ignorant, treasonous Congress. Or even that it will be Trump against a Democrat-controlled House and Senate. If I were Trump, I’d be looking to invigorate a fraud detection network for the next vote, with special attention given to sanctuary cities and states, and I would be prepared to start bringing charges where voting fraud is found. Not only that, start doing state-by-state comparisons for voting data to determine how many people are voting in two places. That is a particular problem in places like Arizona and Florida, where people spend their Novembers.

And of course, how could I fail to mention the shithole comment surfaced by a famous liar, Richard Durbin of UniParty Illinois. If Trump said it, he was only giving voice yet again to the consensus of the American people, i.e. that our Walmarts are stuffed to the gills with the flotsam and jetsam of the world’s worst-governed, most violent, least democratic countries on the face of the earth, most of them under 5 feet tall. I had to give visas to them, because the law said so. We don’t have control over our borders when the standard for getting residency is whether your relative/petitioner also entered the US illegally and then managed to gain status. Instead of saying, well that person should have no rights to bring somebody else in, we fell for the left-wing ploy, “how can you break up families?”.  Give us all a break. End chain migration now, and any kind of lottery, and set high standards for entry. If the Congress can’t do this, why the hell do we need them?

Sedition and treason stalk America

I watch astounded at the audacity of ignorant thugs hired by the left wreaking havoc on our nation. They are the paid hounds of hell, loosed on our society to force confrontation between the Marxist-Leninists (aka socialists) and the deplorables, also known as right-wingers, Nazis, neo-Nazis, fascists, and so on. (Did you ever notice how communists is never a dirty word for these guys?) I see that the unhinged Sarah Silverman became terrified by the neo-Nazi symbols painted all over New York. Those were, of course, utility markings that actually bore very little resemblance to a swastika. A woman contemptuous of Israel on a daily basis, she used her Jewish card to excuse her stupidity. Everything, including the tracks of slalom skiers, reminds her of swastikas, like the hiss of a snake is ingrained in a bird’s brain. Another tweeter skewered her stupidity with a series of tweets featuring “neo-Nazis” (utility workers) doing various neo-Nazi things, like raising the Iron Cross (a utility pole) that bore an obvious resemblance to “T” for Trump. He’s funny. She’s just, well, stupid.

Let’s be frank. There is a paid and coordinated effort to create public hysteria (the Russian menace; the Nazi regime) in order to feed approval for acts of subversion and treason against an elected president and the USG. They want to bring down Trump, and are happy to tear down the Constitution, individual rights and public order to do so. I worked for years for the USG, as did my husband. I have never seen this kind of open sabotage by people paid out of public funds. There was always a Democrat preference, but never the deliberate undermining of superiors. This is scary and shameful. This is unprecedented. These people want permanent power and we are the mote in their eye.

Regime change has come home to roost. You better believe all those who suffered it at our hands are cheering. They’re scared, but they’re cheering. The hand of God and all that.

Trump has to move much more rapidly to remove removable officials suspected of being opposition activists, what we should rightly call moles and saboteurs. It isn’t enough to take out the top political appointees, he needs to dig deeper into the hierarchy and start rooting out those who have violated their oath of neutrality. The bureaucracy will otherwise bury him.

Another issue: the Russophobia. The degree of hysterical coverage of Russia has surpassed anything I have ever seen, which includes the entire Cold War. It is not a coincidence that this rise in public fear happens months after the USG funded a major program (under Obama) to counter Russian propaganda with US propaganda aimed at Russia. There was even a press conference to announce the start of this Big Lie program. And Russia is such an easy sap to set up as the Arch-Enemy of America. Only problem is this: today’s America is spelled “Amerika.” The people pressing the anti-Russian line are either insane (McCain) or uninformed, or making big money on our mounting military aggression against Russia (the military-industrial et al complex). Then there is the Democrat Fifth Column. The anti-Russian crusade was triggered by the contempt heaped on Hillary Clinton by Putin, who much preferred the pragmatic anti-regime change Trump to the bellicose airhead who thought she was born to lead the world. Much like Obama, but less successful.

This is sheer madness. Furthermore, it is being promoted, whipped up, by our intelligence agencies who nevertheless fail to provide us any proof. So much of this slop they are serving up is pure lurid imagination, like the slimy story sold to his business patrons by the ex-spy (and now we know why he is an ex-spy) Steele. Real intelligence analysts scoff at the entire “Russia hacked the DNC and Podesta!” story. There isn’t a shred of credible proof that was ever presented; the original source of this dope was some shadowy character on the black side of the CIA; the FBI never examined the DNC servers. They took the word of some private company, and used this to spin out a fantasy. It is repugnant. Our intelligence services are corrupted and seriously.

The two memes, that Russia is a major threat to the world and that they stole the US election for the evil Donald Trump, could bring an end to our system of government. We have reached a point where the rotten brats brought up in our indoctrination camps, aka public education, think a one-party dictatorship is a good thing, but only if they are it. Otherwise, “by any means necessary.”

Here is what I want to see. I want to see the immigration raids continue relentlessly. I want to see the leakers tracked down and arrested and held without bail pending trial. I want an investigation of John Brennan and Mike Morell. I want an investigation into Soros funding of the rampant violence. I want both the Clinton server crimes and the Clinton Foundation crimes investigated. And I want to see the back of the Clintons (despite those ugly big saggy asses).

I usually have been a few years ahead of the curve in my predictions, although this year is a real drag on my average. But I’ll venture this. We are headed into a deliberately provoked civil war. Prepare for it.

For Christ’s sake, the Preppers were right.

Egad. The Dems really don’t believe in the American Way

still wearing white

still wearing white

Even as I write this, there are frustrated unhappy women on every side, gnashing their teeth and wailing about the defeat of the Wicked Witch or, as she seems to prefer, The Yeti. But defeat isn’t the right word, what these mourners really think is that she wuz robbed. Such horrendous events couldn’t happen in the LaLa Land in which they exist. I guess they never read ancient Greek literature, nor are they on intimate terms with history. But most sane people are getting on with their lives and would appreciate having the noise turned down. They’ve had enough of cry-babies and Hillary suggesting somehow she won but was cheated. No chance.The Left, which is mostly so-called Democrats with a sprinkling of communists and socialists (all the same thing) is not going to allow this horrible democratic system to continue in America if they can help it. If Lena Dunham has to take a poop in front of us every single day she is going to do it just to make your life a misery for not voting for Hillary.

How can it be that those who voted from among the five million illegals allowed, nay invited into California by the Democrats have had their votes in the presidential election stolen by the Electoral College? How can it be that nobody is as mad as the Democrats are that somebody, and who gives a damn who it was, stole all their dirty laundry? What an array of crimes and thuggery and deceit those Podesta emails are. I need to sit down and read through the Wikileaks treasure before they are erased from all existence. From Hillary’s active engagement in decisions to send out people to disrupt Trump rallies, to the Clinton Foundation venality and felonious activity, these emails underlined in red everything we ever thought of the Clinton Clan. Dirty, sneaky, mean and greedy. Therefore, objective number one for the Clinton Society of Anti-Historians is to engage in a little sleight of hand. They want to focus your attention not on the right hand (crimes revealed), but on the left hand, the matter of who uncovered the emails! In this way, they think slyly, the actual crimes can be made to disappear. (Not a chance.)

By now the Democrats have convinced their zombie-like followers that Hillary was a saint of some sort, even though I can confirm that the spinster left were advising each other on Facebook to “just hold your nose and vote for her!” (When I say spinster I don’t just mean the chronically unmarried. I also mean the married who look at the world through the lens of a spinster.) They had the demographics all sewn up, every single  miserable sub-group created from the minds of drug-addled ideology-fueled and sexually deviant leftists to enable a firmer grip on those votes. They had the money, money, money. They had Wall Street and financiers, to whom Hillary had already sworn her open fealty. They had a Machine and it was mean and dirty. Nothing was too low for the Hillary campaign and one of the low-lights was when they aired Trump’s raunchy comments to an aspiring starlet, who know doubt loved a little grabbing if it would only get her ahead of the game, and another no-doubt filthy mouthed Hollywood type. It seemed so obvious to me that the black hat was worn by Hillary, who put private stuff out to all the sweet little girls and boys in America. But no. It was Trump’s sin to be a guy, not hers to be a tattle-tale. In the end, the Dems had everything but the allegiance of the voters.

My advice to Democrats: It is time to stop acting like the uneducated, undemocratic, small-minded mob you lefties are, cry-babies and autocrats who want your way every day and don’t think any punishment is too harsh for your deplorable opponents. I am SO GLAD you dictatorial idiots lost this election that truly, there are no words to express it.

You ought to just get on with whatever it is you guys do while the rest of us work. But you aren’t going to let a crisis that doesn’t even exist go to waste — no, you are going to create a crisis, if you can, and then exploit it. So since you lost fair and square, job number one is to make the public think, hey…NO, WE DID NOT  LOSE FAIR AND SQUARE! Since you were fabulously unsuccessful in even raising a plausible case of fraud and ended up thrown out on your ear in Michigan, what else is left to you? Here’s an idea: blame the Russians. Play that card and play it as hard as you can.

The Russians, thanks to US hysteria, have acquired global stature as Super State: a state totally controlled by one man who actually manipulates every electoral system around the world, and according to the left is now set on unseating Merkel through fake populism! The fact that Merkel invited in a million Arab Muslims of unknown origin has nothing to do with it! Everything negative that one might think of the Democrats (losers, arrogant, liars, cheats, creeps) can be deflected and explained away with a single word: Putin. Who could ask for anything easier to explain your extraordinary fall from grace?

I just watched former Gov. Bill Richardson from New Mexico telling us with a straight face that both the DNC and RNC were hacked, which is only half true. He hastened to add, “I think Trump would have won anyway” — but, but, but and from there the lies abounded. It doesn’t matter to him that he is so distorting the truth that it is a lie, because the truth is highly malleable to a “progressive.” Here’s an example: when the Russians were among the captive peoples of the Left in the Communist USSR, and were being oppressed and suppressed and sent off to the Gulag, the American Left adored Russia. Simply Adored Russia, a la John Reed (Reds). Now the same folks hate, Simply Hate Russia, which is no longer, of course, a socialist/communist (Democrat) party. No longer being idolized, it is suitable fodder as a scapegoat.

The bottom line: these guys would do anything to retain power. All their anti-democratic methods they learned at the knee of Vladimir Lenin, whose victory laid Russia low for almost a century. But the essential evil encapsulated in Marxism still lives in the bosom of the Democrat Party. They still want to be the Vanguard, and they still want the rest of us to be the useful idiots and The Masses. A lie is as good as the truth. The destruction of everything that has sustained us is okay, as long as it serves the ultimate purpose of their own power. If they had had four more years to open our borders to the deluge of uneducated and impoverished Latinos (and whoever else they brought with them), they could have totally subverted our electoral system. If they have to pitch the country into chaos for the right to name the upcoming four Supreme Court justices, not a problem. So don’t expect these fools to shut up. These people could have formed the “civilian army” that Obama so longed for to off-set the despised US military. Count your blessings and put in the ear-plugs.

Trump Reworking His Approach; Hillary can too say Radical Islam, she told us she can.

How can the GOP ever hope to again win the presidency when it is led by self-righteous mugs like Paul Ryan and unprincipled schmoozers like John Boehner and the desperate, like Kirk in Illinois who thinks he might win his seat again by abandoning his Party’s presidential candidate and acting like a Democrat. To crib from the toad-like Madeleine Albright, any center-right (educated) voter who who puts an “x” by the name of Hillary Clinton (or does not vote for Trump) is a traitor. That isn’t how Ryan feels, of course. Instead of whipping up the Party’s voters, he offers a less-than-tepid endorsement of Trump and then gives his papal blessing for all the rest of the GOP leaders and voters to “vote your conscience.” Since he has already on more than one occasion told us how morally repugnant Trump is, I think the statement was loaded.

Trump has now dumped his faithful campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski. It was a good, if belated, move. I guess old Corey did right by Trump in the primaries, but he’s not the man for the big picture. Trump needs a tough guy managing him, not some super-loyal yes-man who runs things the way Trump feels like running them on any given day. I think Paul Manafort can do the job. The “do it or I quit” ploy was perfect for Trump, who thinks the same way.

Everybody is dead sure that Trump isn’t going to be able to rise to the presidential level during this campaign season. A lot of Republicans are sadly gloating over that. I myself predicted this predicament. How does a man who comported himself in an almost vaudevillian way during the primary season, playing it broad for  audience guffaws, “pivot” to a Ronald Reagan? I personally think it can be done, but he has to have that fire in his belly for the presidency or he is likely to ham it up all the way to defeat in November. Manafort knows they are under the gun. I bet if Trump proves unable to respond to direction, Manafort will quit, too. Well, this observer wishes Trump well. At this point, it really all rests with him. Can he articulate what are mostly sensible ideas to address huge problems?

Hillary is no longer speaking of an FBI security review of her use of a private and insecure server while Secretary of State (and acts of corruption related to the Clinton Foundation). Seems that security reviews are a non-existent FBI critter. She seems to have accepted that what this is is an actual FBI investigation that, if not thwarted, could lead to a serious prison term. (At last.) On the other hand, Hillary also seems preternaturally calm about the outcome of the FBI criminal investigation. asserting it will come to naught. So I say to myself, the fix is in, isn’t it? When Comey says, here you go Mr. President, we recommend an indictment, Obama is going to say, bury it, right? If that happens, I await with bated breath the one person in the FBI who will stand up and scream bloody murder. I am thirsting to hear some heroism from the FBI and revelations from the Democrats’ version of John Dean. If Hillary Clinton gets off, is cleared of all the crimes she has committed, or if the indictment is held until after the elections, Clinton wins. That means, I am convinced, curtains for the GOP at a national level and for the American political system most of us grew up with. The GOP will fragment into four or five small parties led by weirdos like Gary Johnson, while the president continues the push to the far left of socialism. We will for the first time have all three branches in more or less permanent possession of a single party, and voila! We have the One Party State with the kinds of draconian controls we see in California. I do not doubt that Clinton will do all she can to diminish the US Constitution and individual rights in favor of ever greater State intervention in personal lives. And don’t even think about taxes.

And as an aside — have any of you noticed that there is a nasty spirit of envy and spite loose in this land? It reminds me of Leningrad in the 1980s, where people wrote letters to the editor of state-owned media outlets complaining about others who, having no chance at a cheesy Lada automobile. would deliberately damage the Ladas others had waited years to get. This is the Muse of the left-wing movement in America that senses the chance, having subverted several generations of children, to make the US the USSR. I notice a sort of virus among the State Department retirees, some of whom actually decried the communists of the USSR, who have gleefully catupulted themselves into the avowed socialist camp and have given their allegiance to Clinton. In every society where socialism has triumphed, it is the privileged class who promote the change. Of course, they assume they will be among the elite enjoying all the luxuries that arise from curtailing everybody else’s fundamental liberties. And a high-ranking position or a cushy ambassadorship are nothing to sneeze at. Under any system.

Even if she has now grudgingly conceded that the mobilization of the FBI isn’t merely to double-check State Department security rules, Clinton isn’t using the term “criminal investigation” just as she still isn’t using the term radical Islam. She crossed saying radical Islam off her “to do” list when she told us she was willing to say “radical Islam.” But I don’t think we will hear more of radical Islam from her corner, since she coupled her enunciation of the taboo words with the judgment that it was name-calling. So I expect that the term radical Islam will only escape her lips in phrases intended to portray Donald Trump as “dangerous” because he is a name-caller. There is just so much stuff Clinton has done in the foreign policy field that adds up to either to a big fat zero, or that was wrong and dangerous, that I am amazed she is using foreign policy skills as the standard for judging presidential abilities. And most recently she is attacking Trump’s business morals. Oh, puh-leeze. This woman never made a business transaction in her life that wasn’t dirty. And Crooked. Let’s hope Trumps gives us plenty of details of Clinton’s lack of judgment and moral courage and her use of power to garner money into her own private coffers, The Clinton Foundation. If he throws in all those dirty deals, even better.

Get your ducks in a row, Donald. Hit back hard and with carefully considered words. You will have a real shot at winning if you can maintain that Trump appeal to the New Rebels of today’s America and still make sense to the rest of the country, if you can get a good grasp on the major issues of the day and craft a message that fits the situation. And if you can use every scrap of dirt on Hillary to remind the country just how scummy she is. Unlike Ryan, I’m rooting for you.

Weighed in the Balance

I would like to bang my head against the wall in frustration, but it would be as useless a form of venting frustration as voting for Trump. I am gob-smacked that we seem headed for a contest for the presidency of the US that pits a woman of demonstrated poor judgment, great greed and ambition, and low morals against a man I find repellent in character and somehow sinister.

Let’s start with Hillary Clinton. Talk about “that woman.” Her campaign song should be “How can you believe me when I said I loved you, when you know I’ve been a liar all my life!” Such painfully obvious lying, such compulsive lying, suggests not only that she has much to lie about, but that she needs some serious couch time.

Indeed, Hillary has been a liar all her life, I’d bet on it. A manipulator as well. Think of Reese Witherspoon in “Election.” I have on very good sources that she was involved in some interesting transactions in Panama just at the time her husband was near to clinching the nomination of his party for the presidential run. Sound like influence-peddling? How about all the stuff her brother was up to under cover of the Clinton influence? How about those records hidden in her closet for three years that were needed to scrutinize her law firm’s activities (and investments?). Quite apart from Mrs. Clinton’s personal forays into the world of financial and other lucrative improprieties, the Clinton Foundation must also be liable to investigation for indications that its income was related to Madame Secretary’s influence-peddling. There must be a dozen ways that money is seeping elsewhere. And of course there is the small matter of her opening up the US Secretary of State’s most sensitive communications, including information originating in highly classified documents, to every penny-ante hacker in the world. I was reminded that this entire Clinton-owned server came to light because of a hacker, for heaven’s sake, when the hacker was brought in by the FBI. Could it be they are looking for evidence that the emails he released were but a small bit of all that he took (and sold elsewere?). The US intel community has itself concluded that her email was almost to a certainty hacked and by more than one hacker.

I’d like to think this commission of thousands of national security-related felonies was a result only of Mrs. Clinton’s idea that securing a server meant having an FBI agent on site. But I don’t think that. I think she devised the whole scheme to make sure that she, and only she, had full control over the record of her four years at State. She planned to cherry-pick the lot of them and let the US see the ones she felt like sharing. She did not turn over her records as required by law and demanded by the State Department. On top of Mrs. Clinton’s personal responsibility for these grave violations of the law, some of the State Department’s highest officials (and lower ones) had to have known and allowed, even if by deliberate omission rather than commission, this unprecedented breach of security. If I were the AG, I can assure you there would be a ton of subpoenas going out about now, and guys like Patrick Kennedy — one of the top officials at State and a flexible Admin kind of guy — would be the first to receive them.

So, we have a presumed criminal (presumed certainly by me) running for the Democrats, and by the way, running as a democrat in name only, and as a socialist by content. She is likely to face a man whose very voice now drives me up a wall, even when he’s saying things I agree with. Instead of going for a remake and presenting himself as presidential, Trump has become ever more like a caricature. He is a man of very limited vocabulary, much of it devoted to how fabulous he is. While I applaud his business acumen and his skills at acquiring wealth and lovely wives, I don’t think he got there by being either impeccably honest or nice. He has been stupidly offensive to everyone, the innocent along with the guilty, from the start of this buffoonery he passes off as a campaign. He is a perfect butt for Hollywood spoofing, with his orange skin (except for the racoon eyes) and his bizarre hair-style and his prep school rich boy bullying and posturing. He is openly contemptuous of his supporters. And if I have to hear how “horrible” something or someone is one more time… I’ve said it from the first and repeat to all my friends: he’s a horrible candidate. He’s gonna lose. And we’re going to be saddled with a horrible crook exposed as a horrible crook leading the no-longer united and most likely horrible United States.

For the record, I read that Trump wins in open primary states where the Dems can jump in to help the GOP foist a candidate on the rest of us, and he loses in red states. Still, he’s got a solid third of the GOP voter base behind him, people I normally have no problem with. But look at his crowds. If he is scary, I think the mob reactions to Trump’s vulgarities is more so. I can almost hear them shouting, “Be stupider! Say crazier things! Shoot somebody on Fifth Avenue! We don’t care!” I cannot believe our candidates are talking about the size of their masculine fixtures, or their opponents’, about a person’s height, or their opponents’ families. Trump has been poisonous to the brew of political inanity and has brought with him all the tawdriness of the reality tv world. And I guess that is what his supporters want and like. They want to see the happy faces turned upside down in the corridors of power and money, they are loving the chance to wipe the grins off the mugs of those who have ridiculed the right and its values and broken all the promises they made in order to get in office. It’s smash and bash time.

Here’s the problem for me. Can I in good conscience vote for somebody I think is unfit for the presidency? That of course includes Hillary Clinton in first order, so a vote for her is out of the question. That leaves me facing the prospect of voting for somebody else of very dubious qualifications. If I say affirmatively about Trump, “This is the man for me!” — what then? What if he gets in and then breaks all his promises (and he will — he might build a bit of wall, but it won’t be a serious endeavor), or starts to behave irrationally? What kind of satisfaction would I then have from a mindless insurrection? What good would have been achieved? Or what if he turns out to be as bad a candidate as I think and lost? And then again, if I sit home and withhold my vote from Trump, I automatically give that vote to the much worse criminal and lunatic, Clinton. And that can’t be right, either. I don’t see a happy ending here.

I guess I’m going to pray fervently that Ted Cruz can pull it out or Rubio is in as a brokered candidate. And otherwise, to cast a vote for Trump. If I do, it won’t be in the expectation of being proven wrong about his lack of character and irrationality. The Democrats were stupid. They should have run someone like Evan Bayh of Indiana, a mild-mannered, likable guy who is Mr. Middle of the Road. Then people such as I could have voted for him. But no, the parties are in the grip of the true believers now and things are not going to go smoothly.

The Besieged Mrs. Clinton and Other Good News

Hillary Clinton is in very very deep doo-doo. The FBI has stumbled across something in those unsuccessfully “disappeared” Clinton e-mails that apparently perked them up enough to open a second investigation into the Clinton Foundation. This Foundation is gaining an ever seamier reputation for its corrupt practices, such as using the power of the Secretary of State to secure massive donations all available to the Clintons for their felonious use. I’d love to be the forensic accountant tracing donations to the Global Slush Fund. And tracking outflows from the Foundation to other entities, perhaps in a way that made a trace hard. It’s pretty clear that the Foundation they set up is intended to pad the financing of Hillary Clinton’s run for the presidency, giving her enough non-traceable funds to make the difference between victory and defeat. This would be the much more clever and invisible version of the “small donations from abroad” scam that heavily financed Obama’s catapult to the presidency. Apparently the FBI is trying to untangle those intertwining parts, connecting the dots in the Clintons’ influence-buying game.

If the Foundation is in trouble, I’d imagine our pal Bill isn’t sleeping any easier than his homely wife.  It couldn’t happen to two nicer people. I was looking at photos of the two and thinking: he looks pretty bad these days. Bill’s red nose is starting to look absolutely natural in that landscape of aging skin as he tries desperately to recapture his glib, sexy rock-star days. And Hillary is, despite her surgical work, still an ugly old white woman. And an unlikable one at that. If their offer is two for one, I think they’ve lost the youth vote.

Now to the GOP side. Here the waters are murky indeed. Trump seems to be cycling into some sort of a mania, saying really nutty things like he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and none of his supporters would care. That sounds a lot like he is calling his supporters insane, or criminally inclined, or just stupid. It also sounds a lot like he himself is losing all touch with reality. Now the utterly inexplicable decision not to participate in the debate because of Megyn Kelly’s alleged hatred of and bias toward him. Unlikely excuse and if it’s sincere, he’s a fool. Who gives him the absolute right to pick his interlocutors? If he can’t deal with hard questions, he’s not going to win any national election. Enough with his demonizing anybody who questions him. We already have had this kind of president and we don’t want another one. Worse, he now begins again and in capital letters to look like the circus clown, performing and un-serious. I think he may be faltering under the enormous pressure on him. He seems to be spinning out. But the tragedy is that if he isn’t chosen, he could try to take down the GOP with him. A suit against Cruz on the basis of his US citizenship? Hey, Donald: we already had a guy born in Kenya and raised in Malaysia as president, so don’t worry about the Canadian angle. They speak the same lingo, more or less.

Trump’s unpredictability and political wildness raise the possibility or even likelihood that the money men and the ruling Republican elite will unite behind some other candidate deemed able to beat whomever the Democrat Socialists nominate. I still think Rubio is the likeliest candidate. He has all the qualities to be a star candidate and in particular to dance rings around either of the Golden Agers being run by the Democrat Socialists. He could best either of them in a debate. I think he could get a lot of the Latino vote, especially among the girls. But Ted Cruz is also excellent. My favorite Rand Paul isn’t going to get close to the nomination, but he’d be great.

And back to Mrs. Clinton and the question of the day: is it okay to run a person for president when said person is rumored to be headed to indictment for her security breaches? The Socialists of course say “yes,” as long as the felon is not yet found guilty. And of course if elected, there’s that presidential immunity thing. So she could easily bury the whole thing during her first tenure as Madame President. The rumor is rampant that she is going to be indicted for something related to all her electronic and other misbehavior. I think that the FBI is ready, but it is Obama who will decide if the weapon is turned against the Clintons. So far Obama has allowed the FBI to dig and make the Clintons’ lives agony. The unknown is this: at what point is  he  going to call off the dogs? At what point is he going to say, make it go away? Or perhaps a presidential pardon? That would be rich for that boy Obama with his thin black skin. Now Obama has all the power. Will he use it? After all, Bernie Sanders really is his true alter ego, on whom Obama could count to continue pushing his agenda.

On to foreign policy, where things look as lousy as usual. In Germany, women were harassed and worse on New Year’s Eve as they attempted to celebrate. “North African or Middle Eastern looking men” in large numbers joined up to engage in a female-baiting sport and so far Germany’s leaders have done little more than gasp and wring their hands. In Sweden, assaults by the Arab community against the peace-loving native Swedes, including young women, is rising. It is so serious that the peace-loving PM is warning that “in coming years” up to 80,000 self-declared refugees are to be sent home. The Arab/North African inundation is having serious political ramifications in Europe. Nationalist governments may be in the offing, for example in Netherlands where Geert Wilders could be the next top dog. In the security realm, trust is no longer abundant. Individual nations are now reasserting their own border defenses in violation of the Schengen agreement on open borders. This will likely set off a chain reaction, because who can afford NOT to have such controls when the others do? It’s a new era for the EU and it will struggle to survive. All these ugly results from Merkel’s warm outreach to the million Moslem refugees she invited to Germany and the rest of Europe spell likely doom for her government.

In Russia, that nation ended a year of real and painful economic belt-tightening due to EU sanctions, but forged ahead to make Crimea energy-independent from Ukraine and otherwise integrate the region into the Russian Federation. Russia also is moving ahead with the creation of three new military divisions on its western border to counter the NATO build-up in Eastern Europe. Anti-Americanism is at an all time high. Russia’s xenophobia is now in full swing, thanks to US/EU ineptitude in foreign policy.

Turkey continues to deal in stolen Syrian and Iraqi oil and to act as a transfer point for radicals entering Syria to defeat the last secular government in the region. The US continues to cover up Turkey’s crimes while still trying to get them to close their border to the ISIS-facilitated influx of foreign fighters. On the other hand, how much do we want them to close that border if they simply say no and don’t even get their hands slapped?

Jockeying for political talks to end the fighting in Syria continues. The Russians rejected US “opposition fighters” as allies of ISIS and Al Qaeda, but a compromise has been agreed to allow two separate opposition delegations: one made up of actual Syrians who oppose Assad and took up weapons; and the Syrian Kurds. The Turks don’t want the Syrian Kurds involved in the negotiations. I think this is going to be one of those inane political soap operas that go on while in the background the US tries to unseat Assad by proxy force in the face of Russian and Iranian military opposition to that goal.

All in all, it looks to be an interesting year, with both the domestic and international political arenas in full action and the balance of power teetering among a whole host of competing nations. Rocky waters ahead.

Not a Pretty Picture

I could be referring to so many things: excess plastic surgery; gross obesity and death-camp “svelte;” Boy George; Hillary Clinton.

I saw today in the National Enquirer that Hillary is a “confirmed” lesbian and travels with girlfriends including The Hoom aka Huma Abedin. Scoff if you will, but the National Enquirer is one of the most accurate gossip magazines in the US and always scoops the others on big news. It used to be far less reliable until Carol Burnett sued the pants off the gossip rag. Ever since then, if something scary and utterly bizarre, like Bruce Jenner turning into a hideous woman, has appeared in National Enquirer, it inevitably ends up on the mainstream front pages. In fact, Politico.com is running a series of photos of the two women together with the title, “how close are Huma Abedin and Hillary Clinton?” Nothing at all racy in the photos, but that question made me wonder if they, too, were insinuating something. In fact, a search of the internet shows this to be the topic du jour. But to quote some shrill harridan, “what difference does it make?” I’m going to make a giant assumption that Hillary’s alleged sexual appetites won’t turn off her fans in the almost entirely Democrat lesbian community or among the generally de-sexualized or over-sexualized and certainly anal retentive left.

On the other hand, surely she’s about to be given the hook and hauled off to prison for:

a) hiding subpoenaed records in her own personal closet forever before being outed by a female assistant who obviously was not taken by Mrs. Clinton’s charms;

b) successfully defending a pedophile rapist in her first idealistic youth and then gloating  about what a cake walk it was;

c) lying to her superiors on the Watergate Committee while trying to remove Richard Nixon from the Presidency for lying;

d) profiting knowingly from narcotics activity and drug-money laundering, in Arkansas and beyond;

e) corrupt trading;

e) wiping out four years of official U. S. Government records concerning the affairs of the United States Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, in clear violation of the law, and after those communications had been subpoenaed by Congress;

f) all of the above and much, much more.

It doesn’t look that way. It appears that Mrs. Clinton is waaaaay above the law, up there with her husband and Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi and that verminous weasel Harry Reid (The Good Mormon). I’m still counting on Trey Gowdy to be the outstanding prosecutor he is and zap her on the feloniously deleted government records. I sense a kindred spirit there.

The exterminator came by today, waging the endless battle against Florida insects. This guy and I always chat about politics. He’s what I consider a true centrist, a stubborn guy who likes to consider things and make up his own mind. He said Rand Paul, my favorite, will never get elected by the Republicans and my broken heart and I agree he is probably right. He wondered what I thought about Hillary’s chances of getting the nomination. I said it looked that way, but one never knows. One lefty chiropractor acquaintance with whom the Bug Guy engages in barter trade (“roaches for realignment”) had said he was voting for Hillary, who was just what the country needed, a woman. It was her right to be president as a woman. The exterminator asked him if that meant that using sex as a criterion was good or bad, or if it maybe was only good when it served your larger interest and not that of the other guy? Good one, I offered. Of course it didn’t sway the argument. The same guy thought Obama had a right to be president because he was black. Not honorable, uncorrupted, knowledgeable and fair-minded, not even a demonstrable US-born citizen, but black. Same for Hillary. Who cares if she’s an unindicted felon?! What’s the difference?

Now we hear that Mrs. Clinton, her morally lax husband, their homely daughter, and IN PARTICULAR their very own money-making Foundation are going to continue taking foreign donations. Hell, no, they’re not killing the golden goose. Those Foundation funds are beautifully easy to expunge after they accidentally get commingled with those of the Hillary campaign. It’s entirely possible that all records could disappear. The Clintons threw the public a crumb, agreeing to say a polite “no more, for now” to the Saudis and to everybody but a small number of very rich countries, some of them actually Socialists, as is Mrs. Clinton. I’m impressed, aren’t you? The only good thing is Norway’s income is way down with the falling oil prices. They won’t have so much  money to funnel to her via the Foundation. (The wife of a Norwegian military official once told me the rest of the world ought to get to vote in US elections since the US told everybody else what to do. I’m sure she would send in her five euros.)

The Republican field is pretty good aside from their uniformly bellicose foreign policy. (Well, we can’t yet throw in Rand Paul.) They all spout the usual nonsense about carrying the flag for civilization, democracy, freedom, and Niceness. The problem is the “little” wars are multiplying and the Big War, the One that is really going to End All Wars, threatens on multiple fronts. The deeper we involve ourselves in other peoples’ wars, the more impossible it is to withdraw. And needless to say, the money and power interests get bigger and fatter, too, feeding on all this endless conflict. The old military-industrial complex that Eisenhower spoke of. (If you live in the DC area you’ll get it — the place has burgeoned and grown like a tick off the taxpayers’ blood. Every retired General has at least an office there and increasingly the metropolitan population lives off the government.)

As for the GOP candidates’ domestic platforms, I am still waiting to hear what those are. Nobody seems to be making Obamacare much of an issue. I do applaud the House repeal of the estate tax, let’s hope the Senate acts quickly so we can all enjoy another self-righteous bit of blather from The Empty Suit about “fairness” (highway robbery) as he vetoes the bill.

One last word on another picture that’s not so pretty, this one the latest blast of Cold War hysterics from the US Pentagon: our military leaders have expressed to the Russians and the world their indignation that the Russians acted dangerously and provocatively and aggressively when US spy planes were flying “in the Baltic” in international waters. What isn’t stated is that the US spy planes were spying on Russia along its adjacent border, as we assume we aren’t spying on Latvia. NATO considers Russia to be rude in telling NATO jets unambiguously to buzz off. But here’s a question: when Russia is, say, steaming through the English channel en route to its own war games in the North Atlantic, a la NATO in the Black Sea, why do NATO and its leading member-state hawks fan the flames of hysteria and portray Russia’s passage as threatening? If it is truly threatening, then just think how Russia feels about US spy  planes, sent from half a world away, patrolling its borders. Threat or no threat?
