Ooobie on Everything

at last

Even as our friends on the left laughed and celebrated and threw their hats in the air, convinced that Trump was headed for impeachment as a traitor who stole the election, convinced he was a madman for impugning the honor of Barack Hussein Obama, a few brave people within the US Civil Service snuck out of the range of fire to report to California Representative Nunes on how in fact Trump was surveilled, or as the President said “wire-tapped.” How sweet it is.

When Trump made his accusation (and wouldn’t you like to know who really tipped him off?), prima donna James Comey flew to the press in a snit of righteousness to say he had asked the DOJ to issue a flat denial of anybody authorizing “wire-tapping” against the then president-elect or even candidate. Of course that was a pure technicality, which is another way of saying “lie.” Then Comey, with that pugnacious jaw thrust out, tried to finish off Trump by announcing that he and his campaign were under investigation for treason, i.e. collusion with the Russians to steal Hillary’s coronation, and had been since mid-2016. But Comey was oh, so coy about the issue of felonious leakers currently lurking within the USG. Seems maybe the FBI gives a damn; and maybe not. His goal was pretty clear, a chance to get even for Trump’s outrageous use of “outreach” to out the FBI.

Now we know that some unstated number of Trump allies and maybe even Trump himself were under surveillance under the Obama regime. Hence the leaks the Dems were hoping the rest of us would buy as “smoking guns” and just cause to remove Trump and install Hillary. Boy, Comey always comes up smelling like horse excrement.

Needless to say, the Democrats and their cronies in the press gasp about Rep. Nunes rushing to tell the Prez that he had been right after all. “You favor the president!” screamed Schiff. What Nunes should have said was, “and how about you? aren’t you actively opposing the president? this brings some balance.” But Nunes didn’t care and he did right. If he hadn’t outed the lie into the public domain, it would have “disappeared” like all those who ran afoul of the CIA in Latin America in the 40s and 50s and 60s and 70s and 80s and no doubt 90s (then I retired from the State Department).

I’m happy to find that my own judgment was correct, that there had of course been surveillance call it what you will against Trump and his allies. How else would you have had leaks of conversations? It wasn’t  magic, was it? And finally someone did indeed have the courage to buck the trend and end the silence about the massive abuse of Executive Branch powers by the Obama administration.

(Note: I’m listening to that purveyor of lies, Adam Schiff, tell us that Obama partisan Sally Yates is willing, yea frothing at the mouth, to come forward and defame Trump. Okay. Maybe not “defame Trump” literally, but in reality, yes. It’s tough being on defense, Adam.)

So here is the bottom line: the CIA probably planted electronic trace that allegedly led back to Russia to back up the Brennan/Clapper lie it was Russia and NOT Seth Rich of DNC dissidence fame who passed the evidence of DNC corruption to Wikileaks. Take a look at Zero Hedge  on this subject.  At a minimum, they had the capability to do so. (See Wikileaks.) They padded this bit of electronic “evidence” with the kind of scurrilous rumor-mongering that Brit ex-spy Steele was selling. Then their pals in the intel community either turned a blind eye to the lie of collusion and a “false election” (I’d guess Adm. Rogers…) or colluded actively in the lie. This happened as a result of the politicization of the civil service, which is supposed to be a totally neutral body. If not, you’d have people leaking top secret information to deep-six the opposition. Imagine.

I was trying to write about all this for weeks, but I kept discarding my drafts. I felt there was something else coming that would clarify the situation. What Nunes has brought forth, thanks to that heroic “deep throat¨ has indeed clarified the situation. Now others are stepping up to reveal what was going on under Obama to sabotage the Trump Administration. We are in a perilous state of governance in which our decisions are being shaped by false information

America, the Ridiculous

I write while the US of A is in mid-throes of anti-Russian madness. Russia, if the increasingly demented members of the US politocracy are to be believed, is the cause of every ill in the United States and the entire rest of the world that is not friends with VLADIMIR PUTIN (cue: Jaws music). The Russians caused Brexit, which nobody tumbled to until after the Russians got Donald Trump elected to the presidency, when the scales fell from their eyes and they saw pretty  much everywhere the hand of Satan, aka Vlad. The wicked Russian released ill-gotten information snatched (supposedly) straight from the Dems themselves. The stolen goods were rich with evidence of corruption and wrongdoing, ethnic contempt and contempt for Americans — and not one word of it was ever denied. But the culprit isn’t the corrupt nasty folks led by Hillary and Bill Clinton. No, the culprit is, of course, Russia. How dare Russia lift the veil on all that crime? If indeed Russia had anything to do with it, and there is precious little evidence of this claim.

This is the last act from the Theater of Brattiness best exemplified by its icon and champion, a man from nowhere with a lot of sly self-promotion but not a shred of depth or wisdom. He was the ultimate empty suit kept afloat by ego. I imagine he sails off (not too far! Kalorama!) to billions paid into a variety of secret accounts by such as Soros and Buffett. Maybe I’m wrong! Maybe I’m the only one who thinks he was a robot paid for by the elite to push globalization and even more unimaginable wealth for the unimaginably wealthy.

But by the way, even if we all know that the latest bit of buffoonery — the explusion of 35 Russian secret operatives and adding some more Russian institutions to the sanctions list — can be easily reversed by Trump (and should be), it all leaves a very nasty taste in Russian mouths. In particular as the USG once again fails to provide evidence to support very tendentious claims of Russian interference in foreign elections, and US elections at that. The US itself of course has carried out and continues to carry out dirty ops to influence foreign elections, up to and including illegal wars (aka “bombing campaigns”). Just ask a Ukrainian, any Latin American, an Iraqi, maybe a Libyan. So from the Russian point of view, it’s just more US bullshit ordered by the Clown Brigade.

From my point of view, as well. First of all, we have the fact that the indictment against Russia and against Putin himself appears to have sprung full-blown from the forehead of the CIA. This US Temple of Lies has concocted more false stories than all the top tabloids combined. And fantasies concocted not only for distribution abroad, or just to the US public at large. They concoct false stories for their own employees, by funneling lies from the operations side to the analytical side, backed up by “highly credible source” gold stars. Then their own analysts churn out finished analysis coming to exactly the right conclusion for getting policy action from State and other brain-dead agencies, as the CIA would think and speak of them.

So, here is the way it is: with no new information, unless it might be a suddenly discovered CIA asset with the very information they were seeking, the CIA reconsiders earlier conclusions, made when it was assumed the US public was going to hail the Queen. Back then, the intel community concluded that the Russians could not be proven to have been the hackers of the DNC or Podesta. They didn’t even mention Wikileaks. But suddenly the CIA believes it does in fact have the evidence, right there before one’s eyes, abracadabra. Now we know practically the patronymics of the hackers, where they come from, who was behind them, and what that Master of the Game was aiming to do. The CIA issued two photos of guys who look mushroomy enough for the technogeek world, but I’m not sure it convinces me of anything other than that. The false analysis grounded in false facts is shared with all the other agencies, some of them notorious dupes with the analytical skill of gravel, and others much sharper if not always ethical. The latter would include the FBI, which wasn’t buying the CIA story until, I imagine, gobs of pressure came down on them. (Here’s a suspicion: that the polit kommisars at CIA felt justified in a made-up story helpful to the Democrats because in their fevered imagination Comey and arch-enemy FBI were on Trump’s side and cost the Dems the election. Excuse me while I cough up a hair-ball.) Both Wikileaks and the self-identified intermediary between the DNC and Wikileaks deny all such charges, but what do they know? Obviously they are in on it with Vlad and the Reds.

And of course now we have the response to Congressional and public demands for the evidence behind the anti-Russian actions by the US president. What  has been provided is a much condensed version of far denser bull-shit that offers no substantial evidence of Russian hacking, much less a link to Wikileaks. Most damning of all, it is prefaced with a disclaimer that essentially says, nobody in the intelligence community believes a word of this malarkey and we’re not taking the fall for it, so read it at your own peril.

Meanwhile, Vlad the Impaler is having a merry old Christmas and New Year’s. He is so well-seated internationally that he can afford to scoff at the expulsion of Russian diplomats and hold his retaliatory hand pending arrival of a grown-up at the White House. He even invited US diplomatic children to a wonderful Christmas celebration party at the Kremlin. But he knows the USG won’t allow those little kids to attend, it would be a rejection of Obama’s snit. So one day instead of someone saying, “when I was little I went to a Kremlin Christmas party and met the president of Russia!” — they will say “I didn’t go to the Kremlin Christmas party or meet the president of Russia.”

It is good that the days of the Dark Emperor (and I’m imbuing that with a spiritual rather than epidermal significance) are drawing to their sickly close, although he threatens to raise his battalions for future battle. But for the moment, let me give thanks to God, again and again, for destroying the plans these people had for us and giving us a small opening to redeem this country.

Happy New Year to all!

The Party of Any Means to an End

I am astounded to watch Jill Stein deteriorate into a deranged woman, especially after running a losing but fairly rational campaign on issues close to her heart. Now she has become another Clinton stooge — the woman she said would start a nuclear war! — by trying somehow, in any way possible, to stop the inauguration of the president-elect and presumably install Hillary Clinton. When hell freezes over!

On that issue, my view is simple: electoral college votes, Trump wins, Wisconsin — busily re-voting the past election  — doesn’t get to participate.

Next I expect they will actually start assassinating electoral college voters so they have to be replaced, requiring some new election somewhere. Would Obama opine? Or is it a case where the Democrats could walk down the street and kill an Electoral College voter and nobody would care?

I ask you: what the hell happened to the Democrat Party? This used to be the party of serious liberal politicians, but Americans, who shared American, yes, American values. Today it is a collection of the sexually confused, the illegals, the terminally left-wing, and the spoiled rotten brats that the Millenia has spawned. Or really, we have spawned through our reluctance to fight for core values. We’d rather be fighting in somebody else’s country for our values.

Back to the Bizarre World of the Democrats. Where is Obama in this violence and effort to overturn democracy? He is again remarkably silent on a major issue (well, he did sort of egg it on with his advice not to be silent). I suggest that is because he is loving it and in the secrecy of his leftist cabal encouraging it and through his pals funding it. The Supreme Court come hell or high water or civil war! Obama would be more than okay with turning the US electoral system upside down and igniting national violence. His communist indoctrination as a child would make that a highly desirable goal. Nothing like re-configuring the voting system so only one party ever gets to lead.

And what about Hillary Clinton? Is she not the most ingracious and egotistical of all defeated presidential candidates? Her appearance begging for sympathy, what with the busted up cheek and eye, the haggard look of an alcoholic on a binge; her silence on both the Democrat-funded violence and the recount effort. We all know that she is sitting like a big fat white spider on some beam over our head, probably doing sacrifices of 9-month abortion victims to appease her political gods and return her to power. Egads, this woman was almost the president of the United States. She has no moral character, no strength of character. All that buoyed her was her greed and ambition. Now she has nothing left to covet. After eight years of Trump, she will be too old and senile to take any position, if she is still among the living; and she isn’t likely to become Trump’s roaming ambassador of good will, which would be a great way to make money on the side.

So we have nothing but silence about, don’t misconstrue it as encouragement of, the left-wing shenanigans we are being subjected to. Thankfully, I have the sense not to live in a blue state such as CA or OR, although the scenery is nice. There the long-suffering older generations are being feasted with emotional scenes and pure thuggery. This is what our future  leaders think you do when you (gasp) lose. These poorly educated and self-absorbed youth don’t have any concept of what it means to lose, having been reared within the padded walls of their left-wing indoctrination centers, once called “schools.” In these laboratories for the left, the kids aren’t given a solid foundation for life in the modern world, vicious as it is. It is mostly slogans and “actions,” and we all win!

In any  case, out there on the left coast these tree-huggers and utopianists are about to go for a ride as the west coast shears off north to south in one piece big enough to be declared the Republic of California. On the other hand, if you stay afloat you will end up Asian when you bump into China. But as a result of your apparently sovereign right to ignore immigration law, you’re well on the way to that in any event. I would be watching Japan with more than a little fear right now, Pacific ring of fire and all that. I’d be practicing Chinese.

And by the way, I absolutely would like to sign, just as a big supporter, the Calexit petition. I would also urge them to pursue another left-coast proposal, the building of a wall north to south to prevent the illicit entry of Americans into California or anywhere on the west coast. I would send in five dollars for that. I am a big fan of secession and think that the fighting of a war to prevent it was just stupid. Let’s not do it again. Let’s have a Velvet Divorce where we each share in the goodies and say good-bye. We’ll take all the guns and nukes off you, if you like — you’ll want that gun-free country you’re always talking about. You can have most of the university professors and school teachers, as well as union supporters, and don’t forget to take the ACLU! We’ll split the ports. We’ll split the states along red-blue lines or maybe we’ll have a mass population exodus if we just cut the country in half and say you get the left side, I get the right.

But I confess, the idea of a divorce really does appeal. We don’t share values or goals anymore and we really detest one another. That seems to be something we all can agree on.

It’s Official: United States is a Banana Republic!

I am still in shock. That bastard Comey has declared Hillary Clinton NOT a criminal even though she deliberately and for four consecutive years left all the communications from the Secretary of State open to (his opinion) likely hacking by enemies of this country. I would bet my entire pension that Vladimir Putin and the guy in charge of China read Mrs. Clinton’s emails while on the bathroom throne. And then use the record for something else.

Let’s repeat  it for the record: this decision by Comey came on the heels of a meeting between the Attorney General, his boss — the one who wants to hunt down legal US gun owners and anyone who is mean to Islam — and that old El Corrupto, Bill Clinton. It was supposed to be a secret meeting on the tarmac, two private jets belonging to the Power Set, where whispers were exchanged — no photos! no microphones! — but alas, the conspirators were discovered and while those of us sick at what is happening in this country fumed at this meeting, the AG reacted as if it was all a big ho-hum. So, you caught us in another act of blatant corruption, big deal. Who cares? Of course, if only I could do it all over again…

Did Obama ever even say a peep about this tryst on a tarmac? Don’t think so. But I think I discern behind all these egregious actions a giant middle finger, the dark brown of someone half Kenyan and the other half “One Hundred Percent Global,” floating on the horizon. I can’t wait to see the next thing Obama does to offend our country’s good people before his big ass is bounced onto the pavement. He thinks this is a big ha-ha, I guarantee you. In fact, the theme of Obama’s eight years of destroying America is “Who cares?” Who cares about the Constitution, who cares about the law, who cares about opposition, who cares that I am totally bought and sold and corrupt and stupid? — where is that brilliant historian who will write this for us, that biography of Obama called, Who Cares? (co-authored with George Soros).

Back to the total posturer, Jim Comey. In recommending no criminal or other charges against the offending Clinton, he chose to ignore:

— all those thousands of deleted emails — official USG communications being sent on an unauthorized server, an insecure server, known to be such to key officials of the US Department of State — that Mrs Clinton unilaterally decided to withhold from official archivists and then destroy. What was in them? How do they know? Destruction of even one document is grounds for felony charges;

— the fact that even people working for an outside organization, the Clinton Foundation, were allowed access to this insecure email server, which transmitted many highly classified items of information;

— the fact that it is accepted by all hackers that the Clinton private server was hacked, giving all sorts of people access to classified information.

— the fact that the CIA said it was certain she was hacked.

How can Comey say, “but don’t anybody else do this henceforth, or else!” and still absolve her? Isn’t that prima facie evidence of special consideration? Is this Corruption writ large, or what? It is so shameful, that I can really say today, “For the first time in my  life, I am not proud to be an American.”

Can you believe that we bomb countries because they have a corrupt judicial system?

I could go on, but it is making my blood pressure soar. I was under FBI escort and spent about 3 and a half hours in actual interrogation at FBI HQ because of an unfounded (and unproven) rumor spread by a Cuban KGB guy, who actually seems to have been pointing to another woman in the Consulate. Gen. Petraeus told a US military vet (his lover) with a security clearance information she shouldn’t have had and the Obama Administration turned him over (after secretly recording his trysts, no doubt) for public roasting. Jim Comey thought Petraeus, unlike Mrs. Clinton — a serial offender — deserved a sentence.

But Jim Comey didn’t get to be head of the FBI by being a straight arrow. A friend of mine called Comey that weeks ago; something niggled in the back of my head saying “Comey is a political stooge” and I said so. Now my niggling sense was proven right. How sad.

The combination of all these events is like a crown on an administration that has gloried in all the things they have destroyed: marriage (dead); the US military (queerified and beyond); US borders — huh?; US foreign policy — the bombing begins in 5 minutes.  Now, in addition to the EPA and IRS gestapo, we have the usual gestapo, the FBI, but now a truly State Gestapo.

Folks. I frankly think it’s too late to recover any foundation for our country. We are fragmenting into ever smaller pieces while at the same time, our government grows larger.  Our rights are disappearing and the idiots who vote, many many of them, favor that direction. Give us bread. Give us a roof no matter how humble. Open the borders and let love reign supreme. Tell us how to think and live. This is the New America and who better to be that bridge than the Clintons?

My husband is reading this so I have a message for him: maybe not Costa Rica, but where?

There are times when you really wish you had been wrong

Today’s issue of Ooobie comes thanks to Jim Waste of the Left Coast (California), who wrote the following letter to the editor way back when the Great Pretender was only a scary candidate and the Black Face of guys like George Soros who own him. He never did send it, after a friend suggested his upcoming book release could suffer from such a commentary when Obama was seen as the Second Coming. Still, Waste was right on the money in his predictions. I know many of us in the US shared the same concerns, but his take on it — from the perspective of one Great Pretender to another — is interesting. We can all really appreciate today how catastrophic Obama has been for America in so many ways, and wish that Mr. Waste had been totally out in left field in his predictions.

November 14, 2008

Gentlemen,

My name is James M. Waste. For thirty years I worked with the CIA in the former Soviet Union and Central Asia. as a covert field agent and case officer in the former Soviet Union and Central Asia. Previously I graduated from University of California at Berkeley and worked for Bechtel Corporation as an engineering and construction project manager. Since 1970, in my capacity as an intelligence operative, I made thirty-five trips to my areas of covert operation.
I recently finished a memoir covering my life as a spy, entitled “Don’t Shoot the Ice Cream Man”. A chapter in my book describes the relationship I had for over a decade with Constance Stobo who was a mistress of the notorious British traitor Kim Philby. Kim was the worst of the “Cambridge Four” traitors (Philby, Burgess, McLean, and Blunt) that gave the Russians super classified intelligence material during WWII, and for a period afterward. The pathology of Philby’s quick rise to power and influence came during a period of economic confusion and political apathy, facilitated by a culture of decadence, ignorance, and arrogance. I refer you to “The Philby Conspiracy” by Page & Knightly, an excellent book about Philby’s meteoric rise to the very top of British infamy.
I have discussed Philby with Constance Stobo who agrees with the author’s assessment of Philby’s behavioral characteristics. I urge you to read the book, and while doing so, to substitute the name Barack Obama for Kim Philby. As an intelligence analyst, I steer away from innuendo and conspiracy theories, but have learned the hard way that history repeats itself and leopards don’t change their spots. The life model of Philby demonstrate how easy it is to penetrate the world of political power in a nation that is disorganized, and has a flaccid national culture with a populace willing to subordinate the truth as a means to achieve political goals.
For many years, not unlike Kim Philby, I infiltrated foreign political circles rather easily, and floated to the top without suspicion, working with individuals such as Edward Shevardnadze, Mikhail Gorbachav, James Baker, George Schultz, and many foreign nationals. Everything in my world was in transition and vulnerable to change. Nobody was really in charge—a con-man’s dream! To my own amazement, it wasn’t that difficult for me to get close to the big boys and become an insider. Call it a gift, or talent, or an insight but a con-man, by instinct, is a con-man. He is the ultimate opportunist and he doesn’t change his spots. His morals are only in play when convenient. As a practicing con-man myself, I say it takes one to know one. I speak from years of experience. Kim Philby was very good at his trade—the ultimate con-artist—and was terribly destructive to all allies of freedom.
Similarly, Barack Obama is very skilled at the craft of masquerading himself and his objectives. He is attractive, intelligent, cleverly articulate, and skilled in his specialty of shadow radical politics. His psychological needs, influenced by an ambiguous family background have fostered his ideological inclination towards collective radical secularism; and political objectives drive his ambition and opportunism. A review of Obama’s liberal social activism shows a misunderstanding of free-market economics, a lack of personal introspection, and a shallow persona.
My intuitive reaction to Obama is that he is secretive, duplicitous, angry, highly controlled, slick, and arrogant. With this pathology he believes his self-perceived charm and brilliance will solve all problems facing him. Unfortunately, he overrates his knowledge and experience, and thinks he can succeed based on intentions alone; in his mind it has so far! He is “in” over his depth and doesn’t know it—OR DOES HE?
Based on my assessment, I am concerned that we will find that Obama is capable of forcing destructive changes upon America and our form of government. We must remain forever vigilant and remember that to the radical politician, freedom and tolerance are seen as weaknesses that are to be exploited in order to achieve radical goals.
A shot has not yet been fired, but the Constitutional freedoms we presently enjoy, are under serious attack!
Regards,
James M. Waste

Stop the World, I Really Would Like to Get Off

In my  last piece I said that ISIS was operating where the Russian jet came down in Syria. Actually it was a whole assortment of jihadists and revolutionary thugs, some affiliated with ISIS and some fielded by Turkey, and others perhaps financed by the USG. Who knows? All I know is that the Russian media showed a video clip of the motley crew of murderers looting the body and shouting “Allahu Akbar!” (Didn’t see that clip on any  US stations.) I suppose there might be some people who can draw a line between these creeps and ISIS, but I am not one of them and nobody at the receiving end of their brutality would be, either.

But now I’ve just heard Obama continue building his legacy as a world-class buffoon and jackass. In his speech on how climate change is going to part the seas and solve the Syrian conflict, he drew a picture of a poor isolated benighted Russia fighting to prop up a man, Assad, whom the whole world wants to see gone because he is a brutal man; and urging Putin to come around to common sense and give up his support of Assad (surrender or else!) and start trying to defeat ISIS beside the US and all its one million nation allies. I almost choked.

The US has been creating havoc in Syria for almost four years, after having decided that Assad was not amenable enough to US control and direction, being friends of the Arch Enemy Russia and the other (sort of) Arch Enemy Iran. We are responsible for many, many thousands of deaths and destruction beyond belief across the Middle East. Our presence fed ISIS and it grew and grew and grew, and we putzed around, with a gazillion weapons passing into ISIS hands straight from the US, or rather via Turkey, who is pals with a whole slew of mercenary groups with radical ideologies, the hand-maidens of ISIS, and who is trying chiefly to take down Assad and the Kurds who are fighting ISIS.

That is how the US was fighting ISIS for four years.

And it was only when ISIS had advanced so far that it was threatening to take the country, and in the obvious vacuum of intelligent mission direction from the US, that Russia jumped into the fray. An ISIS victory in Syria and then Iraq was an unacceptable scenario. Such a development would significantly heighten the threat to Russia with its Moslem populations, and to Europe. Further, Europe was under invasion with the efflux from Syria, no big surprise considering the scorched earth policy being pursued in that country. It went in a la Russe — wholeheartedly and without reserve. Russia supported the Syrian Army in its fight against opponents armed and trained and funded by the US, and against ISIS wherever it was. Russia was making a huge difference and the Europeans wanted the US to do likewise. The US looked like a sad, pitiful remnant of a once-great country.

The Russians have declared themselves open to an alliance, but that they will not support the overthrow of Assad and the imposition of a government on Syria. This in US eyes is a capital crime: not doing as told. So despite indications from France and Germany that they could live with Assad for a transitional period, the US won’t budge. And now begins the big propaganda push to turn things around. According to Obama in his latest pronouncements from on high, the US is powerful and decisive, has all the answers, and all the friends and all the money. Russia is strictly JV. Russia must stop being stubborn and just join everybody else in doing as told. No deviation from the US position is allowable. Until then, the US president suggested, we will fight in Syria separately.

This arrogant presentation by our Clown President has sealed the deal. Putin will never give on Assad now, and will commit Russian forces fully to defend the Assad government and Russia’s vital security interests. That means there will be no second Turkish shoot-down that goes without a military response. This means that any of those nations flying jet aircraft may cross paths with a Russian jet and there you are, Bob’s your uncle, I told you so. This will happen even if there is coordination at the strictly field level. There will be a military collision unless an alliance is agreed that satisfies the chief goal of defeating ISIS and permits a sane and focused approach to the task.

I urge you to listen to The Idiot’s speech and judge for yourself: knowing what  you know, is this man insane? Is our country too? We have to stop this madness. If we want to be in Syria where we  now act in violation of international law, no matter how we make it appear, we should accommodate Russia’s entirely reasonable position concerning Assad’s status. He will head an interim government and then there will be elections and if they want him, he will still be president. If they don’t, he will go. Syrians will decide, not the US or anybody else. Is that less than we would want for ourselves?

A Prescient Forecast of Things to Come: Flashback to 2008

I recently met a man, Tom Fugate, who served for many years as a Silicon Valley COO and is now retired. Back in 2008, while most of us numbly accepted that America was to be led by a man who didn’t exist doing things we didn’t want to contemplate, Fugate wrote a little piece that laid out how America could be fundamentally transformed (unsaid: by the incoming crew of charlatans in Washington). Below, his take. It’s so satisfying to have these on-the-record confirmations of your good judgment and perspicacity!

A Progressive Manifesto: How to Change & Weaken America
Tom Fugate – November 18, 2008
If I wanted to permanently weaken the economic and political structure of America, I would approach the task by implementing the eight steps below.

• Promote a “Progressive” Candidate
Develop a charismatic Progressive presidential candidate with an image of compassion, concern, and support for low income groups. Use him to incite class envy, to create a sense of entitlement and repressed economic opportunity. Actively cultivate support from large politically “progressive” groups, e.g. public and private industry unions.
• Demonize Free-Market Capitalism
Use current worst case examples of greed to demonstrate how unregulated free-market capitalism has destroyed the welfare of working people. Propose government management of profit as being necessary to redistribute wealth from the “undeserving and opportunistic” rich to the more deserving poor.
• Circumvent “Normal” Legislative Processes.
Expedite the normal legislative process to minimize meaningful pre-passage reviews. Create a sense of imminent national disaster justifying urgent “in the national interest” executive action to control business, financial, and health sectors of our economy. Expand former limits on the legislative process. Challenge traditional limits on federal power.
• Cultivate & Manipulate the Media
Control the dissemination of information to ensure: (1) that all actions, policies, and initiatives are minimally challenged in the media, (2) that opposition politicians and activities are marginalized, and (3) that un-sympathetic media & news organizations are isolated and mocked.
• Communicate Directly to Targeted Audiences
Use social media to spread tightly scripted messages containing generalities containing a minimum of facts, substance, and specificity, thereby reducing chances of contradiction. Avoid any forum in which critical questioning and traditional forms of debate are used. Use “sound bite” modes of communication.
• Discourage Political Discourse
Use subjective and emotionally charged terms to personally attack and ridicule opposition politicians, individuals, and organizations. Assign self-serving motives to the actions and accomplishments of opponents. Replace analysis with emotion to facilitate traction with lower economic groups.
• Implement a Campaign of Disinformation
Create a public perception that objective and meaningful solutions can only be initiated by a strong central government not subject to manipulation for profits. Use half-truths and misrepresentations to avoid proven facts. Constantly accuse critics of engaging in “hate filled and negative” political rhetoric.
• Create Economic Uncertainty
Implement federal spending programs that will massively increase the national debt, justifying federal control of the economy. Use all means possible to promote the concentration of power in the federal government. Through unionization pursue the penetration, management, and control of the fundamental infrastructure of the government.

Domestic and international politics

There’s so much to talk about. First, that mad pilot Andreas Lubitz, taking so many other innocent souls to their deaths while he was ending his own life. If you’ve ever seen Annie Hall, you’ll get why I thought of Annie’s brother Dwayne confessing to Woody Allen’s character that he feels a compulsion to drive his vehicle, at night, straight into another car’s headlights. Only this wasn’t funny. Here’s what I don’t get: why didn’t the doctor who obviously thought he was a dangerous dude behind any wheel only put a note in the file. Huh? Who reads a file before filling his duty roster? The seriously deranged Lubitz  no doubt was”advised” by his shrink to stay home for the day (or a lifetime, he did not add but may have thought, as he cancelled next week’s flight to France and booked a train ticket). If he thought Lubitz should not be flying, why wouldn’t he pass it along to somebody responsible for allowing him to board the flight? Was it his assumption that any sane man would jump at the chance for a day off, paid?

Well all I can say is, good luck, Lufthansa. I really like that airline, but it is going to be facing crippling judgments against it financially. Not that Germanwings is any worse than any of the budget airlines that scrimp here and there to survive at the low fares, and don’t do due diligence all the time. I remember when Jet Blue blew up over the Everglades. That’s something I had trouble even thinking about. If you didn’t die outright, there you were, bloody, tempting, in the middle of thousands of acres of snakes and gators. And bugs. Ugh.

What else? Oh, yes, Mrs. Hillary Rodham Clinton wiped her server clean of any trace it was ever used for anything other than decoration, and then wiped it about one hundred times more. She doesn’t really care if it looks prima facie as if she were trying to destroy subpoenaed evidence, which of course she was. I try to pray to God only for serious things, like people’s lives, but then I think people’s lives depend on this woman not getting in the White House. Just imagine Hillary and her best friend, John (The Maverick) McCain behind the wheel. Andreas Lubitz times a million. And I’m not even going to wade into the muck of corruption involving her brother and others standing to reap rich rewards from a direct line to the US official/political appointee who can override every other officer’s judgment and issue visas necessary to the general enrichment of parties involved.

Ted Cruz came out as a candidate for the presidency, and while I love the man and his ideas, I thought his performance was not as inspiring as it could have been. There was a lot of awkward pauses (for applause, I thought) and that never looks good if somebody has to wave a sign. His ideas are still great, but he has to pour on a little more True Ted. A little more Cuban, or Texan, or something other than Supreme Court clerk. I hate to agree with Peggy Noonan on this, but he did come across too packaged. So far, he hasn’t supplanted Rand Paul in my heart. Paul has enough of Daddy in him to cheer me up, and his ideas on foreign policy are almost the only sane ones around. His curls are cute, too.

So who will win among the Republicans? I sure hope it isn’t Bush, just because it is too much Bush. Just as Mrs. Clinton is waaaay too much, like the Clintons boiled down to their putrescent essence. I say, we have a clash of two philosophies; why not run those who best exemplify our divergent ideals? For the GOP base, unlike its leadership, that would not be Bush (who is nevertheless a good and decent man). And for the Democrats, it sure doesn’t seem to me that this old retread Hillary (I’ll be president by hook or by crook) Clinton does much for that all-but-in-name socialist party. What’s wrong with Warren? She is the new face of the Dems, no kidding either. Give her a chance to strut her stuff.

I’d love to see a Paul-Warren face off. It would be so novel. Then I’d like to see Paul win, and then I’d like to see him tear apart this edifice of stifling nanny-ism that Obama has created with the help of the GOP elite.

In foreign policy the US House has voted a resolution (non-binding, of course) to arm Ukraine. Nothing surprising here, the hawks are ascendant and gloating, even — and they are pretty relentless. Let’s see if Obama will continue to defy them on this latest lunacy. I’m hoping. I have a suspicion the unwillingness to play along with the hawks was behind Obama’s refusal to receive the head of NATO, Mr. Stoltenberg, during the latter’s visit to DC on other errands. Obama no doubt figured that the McCain Cadre wanted to get a meeting so that Stoltenberg could use the press conference to play up what a scary threat Russia is. If that was his reasoning, it gives me new hope that Obama is not entirely brain-dead.

I am really amused by the headlines emanating from the countries of the former Soviet Union and eastern Europe about Russia’s militarization. It’s true, Russia is re-arming at triple time and in line with all the requirements of modern warfare, but since it is a reaction, rather than an action, it is no more significant than night following day or a rash developing after contact with progressives. It is NATO that provoked all of this with its “jihad” for democracy in which international law was highly elastic or entirely dispensable and the use of force was only for the victims’ own good. Now we have all the provocative little former Russian duchies and possessions crying foul because Russia is flying in international waters over the Baltic but “very close” to their borders.

Here’s a news flash for anybody impressed by those claims. While flying close to Latvian airspace, let us say, Russia is also flying very close to its own borders. They are neighbors and not friendly ones, either.

Now, let’s take the US as the example of aggressive patrolling of others’ borders: the US air force, flying a “NATO” flag, are patrolling very close to Russian borders, but halfway around the world from our own.

Just a thought.

Update on “Who Dunnit?” and on US Politics, or “Who Dindunnit?”

Well, that didn’t take long, did it? That last piece was no sooner published than Americans, from high officials to talking heads, told us that Putin did it. That  wily man who has NATO doing pretzel turns trying to show they’re bigger and tougher  than Russia was totally stupid on that one day. He killed somebody of no threat to him thereby turning him into a threat, in particular by having the deed carried out right there under his nose at the Kremlin. The only stupider thing he could have done would be to plant the body in his own office and have red arrows painted leading the public to his doorstep. Unfortunately, the real culprits couldn’t get in there.

In fact this killing was a deep, dark deed, but  I would bet my pension Mr. Putin was the true intended victim, and not the hapless Mr. Nemtsov. My betting is that the plot was cooked in Ukraine; some Russians like the east Ukrainians for the job, I rather lean to the west Ukrainians and their east European NATO pals myself. Either one of them would have as much ease of access in Moscow as any Russian, being undetectable unless they try to pronounce hard g’s. Some Russians argue it was the hard-core criminal element that Russia squeezed out of the fighting in Ukraine that was getting even with Putin by killing Nemtsov. That’s sounds a tad sophisticated for leaders of car-theft rings, and I don’t need to outline the reasons to suspect west Ukraine. I understand that Victoria Nuland, the Empress of West Ukraine and a State Department Bigwig pretty much drew Congress a picture to show them that Putin was ultimately responsible for the murder of her dear friend Boris Nemtsov, whom she described as a hero. (He was actually a professional “oppositionist,” not somebody with a plan of his own. He was like a theater critic, only his bailiwick was the Russian State. He became such when Yeltsin passed him over to anoint Putin his successor. Having been rejected, he refused to participate in the new government. He thus became a remnant of his former glorious self, but was nevertheless a good guy and a decent man with a commitment to opposition.)

I was listening to the tv news and was amazed to note that not a single talking head had anything to say other than “it is obvious Putin did it.”  The least vitriolic say Putin created an atmosphere of hate that facilitated the crime. But then, I think to myself, Obama’s race-baiting and incessant incitement of class envy also have created an atmosphere of rancor and hate in the US. And that rancor and hate has resulted in things like knock-out gangs aimed at whites, and young black kids shoving their way into police cars to pound on a cop — and to deaths like that of Trayvon Martin. Yet I don’t hear the US media waging a campaign against Obama for creating a climate of hate leading to violence — certainly not the State Media like NBC and ABC and CBS and PBS, ad nauseum. So what’s the deal? Is it a crime to create a climate of hate, even if you think you’re justified and if so, how come only some people get called on it?

Happily for Washington, you can twist any set of facts to suit your purpose, and Ms. Nuland is not letting a good crisis go to waste. She is working over-time to depict Putin as a foe that we can only defeat by bringing Ukraine into NATO and the EU, and what helps more than the suggestion that a Stalin-like purge is in the offing or that Stalin has come to life in Moscow? Nuland even went so far as to suggest that Ukraine was absolutely central to US plans for Europe. Wow. Ukraine started out as the birthplace of Russia, but now it is absolutely vital for the US to have it in its own anti-Russian military bloc? You can see how that is going to end up. If you have kids of military age, I’d be worrying about that draft coming back. Although in the end it will be everybody paying, not just the kids.

In any case, a passel of Chechens is under arrest in Moscow, but that doesn’t mean it has a thing to do with Chechnya and its own problems. The head of Chechnya, a Chechnyan terrorist at one time and now the chief honcho in this Caucasus paradise (where there is oil), has boys fighting on the east Ukrainian side (and the west Ukrainian side). They might not have appreciated Nemtsov’s pro-Kiev stance on Ukraine, but again — this is a message to Putin from somebody.

I have a little prediction — Putin will get to the bottom of who did the killings, because he knows stirring up domestic problems in Russia was the goal and the strategic objective: regime change. I also predict that when he knows who was behind it, that person/persons/countries would be well advised to be on the alert. The best strategist doesn’t always respond directly, but from another sector and in a place of his own choosing. He certainly doesn’t attack on his own doorstep, however.

Now on to brighter things: the Republican Party! Just joking. What a mess the top dogs are making of things in Congress. Can you believe it was only weeks ago that everybody was pontificating: “The GOP is going to have to work really hard and fast to convince the voters they’re serious if they want to be in contention in 2016”? Working fast? Try “at all.” These guys are playing for the away team. McConnell is a disaster. After breaking all the promises to voters he posts a picture showing how tough he and his colleagues are gonna be on Iran because it is a matter of strategic objectives. My response was, great, you get “strategic objectives.” Getting the Republicans in control in both houses was one, and so was “and then gutting every anti-constitutional measure the Dems have enacted since Obama took office.” We got part one, and if we don’t get  part two, Mr. McConnell is never going to see the inside of the Senate again except as a tourist.

I am seriously aghast at the state of the nation. We have an anti-democratic President waging a burgeoning number of wars around the globe for “democracy” and with no visible success. Every one of these places wants the US to bomb for them. Think about it. That is what the US has become. The world’s armorer and bomber.

If you wonder how somebody who grew up so in love with the idea of America and freedom and the independence of the individual could become so harsh a critic, it is only because if you go to bed with Marilyn Monroe, you don’t want to wake up with Sylvester Stallone’s mother.  And in fact our country has undergone incredible changes in its international behavior in the past twenty years. As somebody who analyzes everything, I can’t not analyze our own actions, and I see a country that has lost its way and its humility in the process of becoming The World’s Only Superpower. They say that absolute power corrupts absolutely. I think we are no exception, it’s a process, but it is underway. And it is visible both in our domestic governance, where those in office are contemptuous of the voters and the laws, and in our international behavior, where we routinely break international law citing one justification or another, and then scream bloody murder when others use our precedents to their own advantage.

I’d like to go back to that fantastic time when America believed in itself and had a reason to. But right now, I wonder if I’ll be dead before the bombs go off. That would be nice, if Anybody is listening.

Obama Continues the Crusade for Communism

The Republican-led House voted Wednesday to overturn President Obama’s immigration actions from last November — and to unravel a directive from 2012 protecting immigrants who came to the U.S. illegally as children — sending the bill to the Senate where it faces an uncertain fate.

So sayeth Fox News. The House has acted to rein in the Emperor O, who in my mind is eternally wearing a leopard-skin cape over a scrawny hairless chest with a golden spear in one hand. I guess that is ethnocentric; he could as easily be pictured as a really bad white high-school teacher who fancies himself a Marxist, sleeps with students, and doesn’t know his supposed subject. Mr. Obama says he will veto the defiant House bill that dares to question Obama’s authority, and the Republicans are unlikely to find the needed votes to overrule. (And isn’t that sad, all by itself?) It makes no difference that the majority of Americans want Obama’s immigration edicts swept into the trash bin. The man rules from such heights that you and I could never hope to understand how  little he cares about us way down here. In some circles, that is referred to as psychotic or creepy. Many call him The Savior, or Jesus, but those folks have IQs south of 70 and require a boundless faith that there is still more booty to be had if they can only keep The One in power, or somebody who will continue the give-away (that would be you, Hillary “The Hips” Clinton). His supporters can’t think deep enough to worry about the fewer and fewer who are actually producing and not just consuming, wondering what happens when there aren’t enough producers to continue the handout.

But wait, at the very same time that we hear about the courage of House Republicans in facing down Obama over his imperial tendencies we also hear that the GOP is quietly working on an immigration proposal that will satisfy everybody except the Party’s own constituency. Or at least the numerous and un-monied part of its base, the stooges that keep voting Republican year after year, regardless. I don’t think there is in anybody’s mind a belief that appeasing the illegal alien community is going to increase GOP vote share. I’d guess the opposite. Mostly the GOP leadership wants a) the issue to go away and b) enough cheap labor to keep big business happy, big business being seen inexplicably as the root of GOP success.

As a mere observer, it looked to me like Big Business jumped on the Obama bandwagon and they were slavishly attentive to the Clintons when those two dirtied the White House with their scandalous goings-on. Churches want believers and entrepreneurs want near-slaves, and the Democrat (Socialist) Party wants voters. All the forces are aligned against the idiots who populate this country but count for next to nothing except as rhetorical devices.

How about that State of the Union? It should have been called “Stake through the Union.” It is absolutely no surprise that Obama chose ideology over pragmatism. He really thinks he’s got the US engine going, with an oil boom he despises and opposed that seems to this observer to be highly vulnerable to collapse. I worry about earthquakes that have been registered in fracking zones and new oil’s own downward impact on prices necessary to sustain the fracking industry. Obama also boasted about the great employment scene, but not a word about the incredible shrinking labor market (it’s just the Boomers retiring) or the poor quality of jobs on offer. And he wants to make higher education free, two useless years of community college. There is already more pay for a tradesman with a real skill than for any community college graduate. Why not fund tech schools? Why  not let kids who want to work and not study segue into a technical institute where they can learn a trade for their last two years of high-school ? Why waste the money by giving grown adults with no skills the chance for another two years on the public dole that will provide them with very few new useful ones? If they want those low-cost two years of education (already subsidized by states and cities) then let them invest in them with their own labor, or hard work, two dirty terms among the left-wingers. Obama’s brand of governance is what I call highway-robbery. This is a system in which the tax burdens on the productive individual, indirect or direct, are growing to enable the Big Give-Away to continue. In this way, the wealth-earners are expropriated of their rewards which are passed to the wealth-consumers at the bottom levels of society.

The EU is unable to shake off its slump, Russia is hurting, China is slowing down — but the US is going to keep going strong? The page is turned? And yet terrorists are likely to launch some attack here at home at any time now, but it won’t affect us? We’re up to our eyeballs in military adventurism around the globe, at risk of triggering some calamity while championing freedom, while illegal immigrants hoist banners at home reading “the border is illegal, not the people who cross it” and thousands await the next signal to flood the US border. How is that? I’m just a little more cautious than to believe his rosy picture of a US socialist paradise. I think the world is more insecure than ever before. I don’t think the jihad is “dying out.” I don’t think NATO is spreading peace, but war. I hardly believe anything the USG says anymore. And that is both at home and abroad.

The Republicans of course trashed a trash-able presentation by the President, but that’s not news. I anxiously await the next practical steps in the Republican revolution against the tyranny of government being constructed by Obama and his leftist clique. The solution isn’t for the GOP to wring their hands, then defy public will and collaborate with the Democrats on doing whatever it is the Democrats want to do. It is to offer alternatives. Where is the insurance bill that will free up health care coverage and make pricing competitive? Where is anything to do with Obamacare? Stop leaking information about alleged immigration proposals and share them with us. Stop your war on conservatives and rein in USG super-agencies with strict oversight and accountability and a veto power for Congress over any agency administrative decree costing taxpayers’ money. Let’s hear a call for the criminal prosecution of Lois Lerner, and John Koskinnen, and others in these public institutions who are acting for partisan political goals.

If the GOP thinks it can sit around and take the pulse of the public for two years, they’re smoking something.
