Ooobie on Everything

Me Too. Boo Hoo

I’ve tuned out the mobs of hysterical females throughout the slimy info-tainment industry who claim they were victims of Harvey Weinstein. I’m convinced they are being joined by legions of women who never even met Harvey. By now, thousands of starlets and would-be’s are going through their old souvenirs (a broken bra strap, torn panty-hose, a used condom), looking for some male in their past who was a complete and utter pig and treated them the same. Maybe the offense was merely verbal, suggestive talk à la Clarence Thomas, with a willing participant, à la Clarence Thomas. Maybe it was uglier and meaner. Anything they can bring up that allows them to be part of “me, too.” Anything for a few minutes in the limelight.

I am convinced that this newly-discovered army of victims remained silent not out of frailty and vulnerability, but out of satisfaction with whatever they got in exchange. Was it a role, a money settlement, an invitation to an exclusive event? This is the same crowd of Hollywood females who routinely fake sex on the movie set, show up for global television awards shows largely naked, or make sex-tapes to introduce themselves to the audience. Now they claim irreparable damage to their psyches from crude nasty men with too much power and money. I, for one am not the least impressed. Even if every word they say is true, I am not impressed.

Wait, I am impressed with Courtney Love. She was the only one who had the nerve to say something out loud, and she wasn’t even a victim of Weinstein. When asked for advice for young entertainers, she thought a second and answered, “if Harvey Weinstein invites you to a private party in the Four Seasons, don’t go.” She was supposedly black-listed by the Creative Artists Association for being so bold. So far that’s the only victim I see. Bravo, Courtney.

There’s no getting around a fundamental truth: if you are so disturbed by boorish and even aggressive male behavior, girls, open your mouth and move those surgically-enhanced buttocks — walk out in front of the kliegs and talk about it. Don’t wait five or ten or thirty years and claim trauma. If you clammed up in exchange for any consideration or advantage, then live with it. Get on with your life and if you never again make or have made the same mistake, please write to me care of “Ooobie.”

My view is that all men are essentially boorish due to the potent testosterone they carry around, which seems to be hyper-activated by power. The greater the power, the worse the behavior. Some men lack any form of self-control, such as flashers on the street or governors of Arkansas who crowd into a tiny news editing booth to rub themselves into ecstasy against the rigid back of a terrified kid just out of her teens. Or US Presidents who offer a rigid cigar in exchange for…

Yes, I find that most men, even those you thought would NEVER, can act inappropriately and worse. Here are some examples from my own life, by no means exhaustive, about none of which I am complaining:

At age eleven, I took my niece to the community swimming pool where we were gazed at for hours by an adult white male lurking beyond the fence. After we left, this man asked if he could buy us a coke. I  knew to the tips of my toes that this guy was a pervert, even though I didn’t know what a pervert was. I told him politely no and then walked all the way home with my head over my shoulder to make sure he wasn’t following. Ugh. I told everybody, but nobody cared enough, including me, to report it to the police. I never had a bad dream about it, much less chronic stress.

My first job at 18 was as a secretary for the staid US Chamber of Commerce. I was so bad at typing that I hid my trash can under the desk so nobody would see it was packed with discards. What I especially  remember was the 40-ish married boss chasing me around the office with a can of whipped cream as all the other girls screamed and giggled. Then there was the much higher-ranked boss, who wanted to steal me from the whipped cream guy and I’d guess not for my secretarial skills. He tried a more sophisticated approach, lingering in the doorway to comment on whatever deep book I was reading on lunch break, something like Brothers Karamazov. He had a sudden vacancy, he told me one day, his personal secretary was leaving and it was urgent that I apply for it immediately before somebody else got it. Now was my chance to move up the food chain! I would have taken it in a heart-beat, too, but I couldn’t bear to break the news to my sexually frustrated boss. I passed on the chance. Was any of this behavior appropriate? Was it tinged with sexual aggression or maybe just desire? Of course. I definitely got it. It just didn’t bother me or apparently anybody else. Not even the sober businessmen (and they were all men) of the Chamber.

In the State Department, I had a boss suffering from an illness that was sapping his life. He developed a fantasy around me (a wife of only four years, with my husband working there as well). He would congratulate me on matching my eyeshadow to my clothing or make other “off” remarks. His office was adjacent to mine and one day he called me into the conference room. There he declared his love, but he was talking as if we had had an affair or were in some form of relationship that most certainly did not exist. It was “us,” not “I.” I knew he was going downhill mentally, and was greatly relieved when he said, “but we are both adults, and so nothing can come of this.” I heartily agreed and had to endure only one horrible kiss at the door. I was really shaken by the experience.

The only funny part of the story was that the instant I got in the office I went to call my husband, but he called me first. He said he’d like to know what was going on. “I just passed so-and-so and he said to me, ‘don’t worry, there’s nothing going on between me and your wife.’ ” If ever there was a case to bring to the attention of the authorities, that was it. But both my husband and I let it lie. The man in question was soon completely disabled and died in a long-term care facility. Terrible fate and I’m oh, so glad, I didn’t give him further grief over something that could be handled.

The story has never changed much. Men are men and women are women. Men are sexually aggressive, and no matter how large the super-brain, the lizard brain is focused on propagation of the species. For their part, women are ambitious. I am sure there are adages the world around that boil down to the Russian version, “the man is the brain, the woman, the neck.” I think the ladies involved knew what was up with Harvey, who practically oozes corruption. They also knew how to benefit, or so their silence suggests. Thus, my response to the sanctimonious phonies: who cares?

My Safe Space

You hear so many crazy things these days. I don’t know how I would keep up if I hadn’t already predicted most of them. Recent suggestions for a better America include the mass expropriation of property from lighter-hued humans for transfer to those of a darker shade. (At last, the home of my dreams is within reach!) The allocation of seized properties would be carried out honestly and fairly of course by a cadre of Super Humans who are above politics, greed and personal skin color, although all of them must be Democrats. In today’s America and elsewhere in our world, but only in progressive places, real-life whites not only wish themselves into blackhood, but are hired by (I am taking this on pure faith) genuine blacks to head the latter’s skin-based organizations. In today’s America, thousands and thousands of people from what used to be a bastion of learning (go Sox!) march militantly to silence Free Speech. They no doubt toast with chilled chardonnay afterwards, throwing their nasty little pink caps in the air like a psychotic Mary Tyler Moore fan club, smug in their day’s work of crushing the Constitution beneath their hob-nailed sandals.

Now we are debating whether or not we should rewrite parts of US history that are so shameful, so they say, that they should not be allowed to exist. Today that category of non-things and non-persons includes anybody who fought for states’ rights in the War against the North, anybody who owned a slave prior to the Civil War, or lived with a slave as husband or wife without openly marrying them and setting a good example — people like Thomas Jefferson, who treated his woman Sally with a dignity and stature unheard of in that time, a man who educated his half-African children. It means defacing and destroying and disappearing stupid statues whose names are covered in pigeon shit. (Reminds me of a sixth grade field trip to DC, sitting in a park, eating my bologna sandwich and looking at a statue of someone who was no doubt a war criminal of some kind, when a pigeon shat upon my hair. I try not to blame the statue, and these anti-statuary freaks would be well advised to do likewise.)

But what will be forbidden tomorrow? Perhaps whole classes of deplorable people you used to think of as ordinary Americans will be shipped off to reeducation camps, or invited to step onto the glorious Pathway, as invented by British socialists. And when will we start airbrushing out unpleasant presidents who weren’t someone you’d invite home to meet the parents? Taft was so faaat, ugh.  Or candidates who were a Big Fat Zero?  (Here’s to you, Hillary!) By eliminating outmoded and/or offensive aspects of our history, that fabled tale could then be rewritten by those whom I and others call “Gen Zero.”

One of my favorite concepts to be spawned from the vacuous minds of the left is that of the “safe space.” When I was a junior officer in the Foreign Service in Jamaica we had safe spaces that were closed off by rape gates. The gates gave you time to call in the troops before dying at the hands of home invaders armed with automatic weapons. But this new idea is galaxies and light years ahead of that simple idea. These safe spaces began their existence as proposals for the timid, if militant, Deviant Sexualists that have been churned out by our schools. In their “safe spaces” you were forbidden to be mean or refer to any deficits in the safe person’s psyche or body or dating partners. No fat jokes or sissy jokes. You were increasingly expected not just to tolerate but even be a proponent of sexual deviancy at risk of bursting through the safe walls of all the safe  bubbles in which the sensitive oddities were living. Now, of course, that seed of compassion has expanded (no weight pun intended!) to include anything that upsets anybody about anybody or anything else. Entering or violating the safe space by the offensive is a crime punishable immediately by the use of violence.

I’m sure you can see the problem with the concept of “safe spaces,” that being where does yours end and mine begin? If I feel happy in my safe space spouting out things you hate to hear, does that impinge on your happiness over there in your safe space? Does that mean you can pull a gun on me? Or set me alight with a make-shift molotov cocktail made out of a can of hairspray?

And what would my own safe space look like? If I gave into my more nasty and brutish side, I’d prohibit anything other than hate speech directed at Hillary Clinton, anybody in the Democrat Party, James Comey, Robert Mueller, all left-wing Hollywood blowhards, and also, and especially, Harry Reid and John McCain. I would only allow specific news outlets into my air space, which means no “mainstream media” (and that’s a good one).  It probably doesn’t mean Fox News anymore, not since the Murdoch purges began. In my own safe space, there would be no entertainment beamed into my home filled with nudity, bestiality, and stupidity. Children’s cartoons would make them laugh, not serve up propaganda that makes them cry and worry about all the latest issues. No sex education pornography would intrude on young minds. No illegal immigrants would dare march or wave a foreign flag demanding the US do this or that. No novels could be written within five years of a major event concerning said event. Similarly, no movies could be made. All movies would require an actual plot and real actors. No more reality tv. No students who don’t study, no intellectuals who think comic books are philosophy. No politicized civil servants; no angry feminists; nobody who isn’t exactly sure of his or her gender.

But then I think, what would that make me if not just what those creeps I despise are? Narrow-minded, intolerant, and ignorant of our rights and obligations under the Constitution. So I think that my safe space would be a nation where schools were non-partisan and education was for learning and exploring and debating ideas. It would be a place where kids were almost always free from menace from their elders in their homes and in their neighborhoods, and where parents try to instill eternal values, like honesty and decency, not cultural myths. People could debate, without the use of obscenities or name-calling, or even with it, but without resorting to or threatening violence. A place where everybody knows that sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose. And that the two things aren’t the same.

In fact, my safe space looks exactly like the America I grew up in. Too bad today’s youth don’t know how that was.

Oh, for heaven’s sake. Now it’s the rage in America to march against freedom of speech

I have tried mightily not to return to the pages of this blog. Frankly, it was all boringly repetitive. How many times can you say that the Russia story is bogus, made up for political goals, and provide clues, before you decide nobody in this country cares? It is far easier to write off the disastrous Clinton campaign to treachery than it is to accept that you boobs on the left chose a lemon for your honey. I was bored with the deliberately provoked angst over Ernst Blofeld aka Vladimir Putin trying to take over the world. I never found a convincing answer to the question: how can Russia be so third-rate and so first-rate at the same time? I never heard an answer of any kind to “where is the proof that Russia did any of the things you accuse it of?” and certainly not to the question, “where did Russia change any election results in any precinct in the country?” I got tired of asking. The left-provoked hysteria made the American air rancid, like bad breath. I decided I’d let Judicial Watch do the digging and asking for me.

I was (and am!) tired of the women in this country, who have all the opportunities a woman could want and are still whining because the country didn’t hand them the presidency. They feel offended, and I’m offended by their offense. I’d say taking their side and my side together, every woman in America is now offended by something. And as an aside, I was really tired of women who marched so jolly wearing a knit hat said to be a pussy, but which looked nothing like any definition of the word. The very idea of such an antic points to the essentially juvenile nature of the left and its useful fools.

I am tired of the men who aren’t men at all, but think it is okay to be a “little gay.” Although gay is so tame. Who cares about gay? Today we have women who mutilate themselves by taking male hormones, cutting off their breasts and hanging on to the other stuff, and no doubt many “men” as well. As Cher’s benighted daughter said, she wasn’t giving up her fun as a woman just because she wants to be a man. No real commitment there, if you ask me.  I have seen two stories in which such a creature has given birth after “becoming” male. Think of that poor child. In any humane state, such critters would be sterilized at the same time as their sex change operation, even if only partial. This will prevent any poor child from being conceived by such people. Who is paying for all this medical experimentation? When I was young, insurance companies would not even pay for infertility treatments for women!

I am tired of the suffocating hypocrisy of the left, on all matters, but Charlottesville and Boston come to mind. I remain floored that 15000 people came out and marched against freedom of speech. That’s the flat truth of the matter, no matter how the media gussies it up. The licensed demonstrators put out a list of “rules” in advance that stated their goal of giving support to the First Amendment and advised that demonstrators were not to bring any  type of arm or carry  any type of hate paraphernalia, not to provoke or be provoked, etc. So as not to invade the safe space of all those Boston folks so afraid of free speech, I guess. In any case, people were riled up that there was still somebody not cowed enough to shut up about free speech, which everybody knows is just a code name for racism, insensitivity, cultural buffoonery, ignorance, homophobia, and so on. This thus required a mob of 15000 to show those licensed demonstrators who was boss and warn they better shut up. And guess what? The licensed demonstrators were frightened by the mob and left, taking Freedom of Speech with them.

Oh, yes, Boston and its famed university are well down that slippery slope to irrelevance and even treachery to the US Constitution. Go Sox!

Meantime, those wise men who made our country great, and led great conflicts at risk of life, but who were not lucky enough to be born in the 21st c. with its cultural nuances and deep morality, are having their statues torn down (as if Thomas Jefferson gives a fuck). And pulled down by people who look like potential deportees or escaped criminals, who have zero understanding of US history or our cultural values (or those that were). Our history is to be rewritten by idiots.

What really rankles most is the creeps we somehow elected to the US Congress when they were posing as conservatives– where the hell does Rubio get off saying it’s all right to use violence against people whose messages you don’t like? Viva Fidel! He won’t be getting my vote or my measly ten bucks this next time. He can go home to Cuba, which I understand is now a free country or what he might accept as such. And Jeff Flake — elected on a wave of Tea Party support and now turned full scale progressive. Open borders (and strong backs!). Tell us Jeff Flake — what did you do for Arizona lately? You didn’t produce a health-care bill, did you? Or tax reform? But you found time to carry on a tirade against the President. I hope you don’t make it through the next Arizona primary and if you do, that you lose your seat. I’d rather an honest communist sitting in Congress than a false friend such as you.

Now we can come to the source of many of my frustrations, the President himself. I must say, even when I was harsh toward him, I was hopeful that the dynamism that made him successful in business would translate to the presidency. I am skeptical. And I am skeptical despite granting that on certain things he has fulfilled his campaign pledges or is  making progress to that end, and that his policies have actually worked (and will in time develop their own problems, as always will happen). Look at the drop in illegal immigration, which is making business scream in pain and leave advisory councils by the dozens. (How about an actual law to let workers sans families in to fill those empty spots and earn some money?)

I think Kelly has put an end to the harmful leaks, but he seems to be killing diversity of thought in the process. Steve Bannon’s departure is really, as Bannon himself said, the end of the “MAGA” period of Trump’s presidency. Slowly but surely Trump is being herded into the smooth notch where all the interests of the Elite and the Dark State meet. He is still resistant on the foreign war bit, but give his enemies (and ours) time.

If all Trump is doing is bringing some order to his policy-making process, then well and good. I said from the start that Trump had better be prepared to deal with all the variant outlooks he was putting on his staff and Cabinet, and he was certainly not prepared or able to do so. So Kelly’s iron fist is good, for now. On the other hand, I also see an emerging pattern in which all the conservatives are herded out of the White House and its environs to give place to those minions of the Deep State who never gave up occupancy. If that is the case, then I’m with Bannon — we have a war on to save the ideas that were behind Trump’s win; all we lack is a leader.

The Party of Any Means to an End

I am astounded to watch Jill Stein deteriorate into a deranged woman, especially after running a losing but fairly rational campaign on issues close to her heart. Now she has become another Clinton stooge — the woman she said would start a nuclear war! — by trying somehow, in any way possible, to stop the inauguration of the president-elect and presumably install Hillary Clinton. When hell freezes over!

On that issue, my view is simple: electoral college votes, Trump wins, Wisconsin — busily re-voting the past election  — doesn’t get to participate.

Next I expect they will actually start assassinating electoral college voters so they have to be replaced, requiring some new election somewhere. Would Obama opine? Or is it a case where the Democrats could walk down the street and kill an Electoral College voter and nobody would care?

I ask you: what the hell happened to the Democrat Party? This used to be the party of serious liberal politicians, but Americans, who shared American, yes, American values. Today it is a collection of the sexually confused, the illegals, the terminally left-wing, and the spoiled rotten brats that the Millenia has spawned. Or really, we have spawned through our reluctance to fight for core values. We’d rather be fighting in somebody else’s country for our values.

Back to the Bizarre World of the Democrats. Where is Obama in this violence and effort to overturn democracy? He is again remarkably silent on a major issue (well, he did sort of egg it on with his advice not to be silent). I suggest that is because he is loving it and in the secrecy of his leftist cabal encouraging it and through his pals funding it. The Supreme Court come hell or high water or civil war! Obama would be more than okay with turning the US electoral system upside down and igniting national violence. His communist indoctrination as a child would make that a highly desirable goal. Nothing like re-configuring the voting system so only one party ever gets to lead.

And what about Hillary Clinton? Is she not the most ingracious and egotistical of all defeated presidential candidates? Her appearance begging for sympathy, what with the busted up cheek and eye, the haggard look of an alcoholic on a binge; her silence on both the Democrat-funded violence and the recount effort. We all know that she is sitting like a big fat white spider on some beam over our head, probably doing sacrifices of 9-month abortion victims to appease her political gods and return her to power. Egads, this woman was almost the president of the United States. She has no moral character, no strength of character. All that buoyed her was her greed and ambition. Now she has nothing left to covet. After eight years of Trump, she will be too old and senile to take any position, if she is still among the living; and she isn’t likely to become Trump’s roaming ambassador of good will, which would be a great way to make money on the side.

So we have nothing but silence about, don’t misconstrue it as encouragement of, the left-wing shenanigans we are being subjected to. Thankfully, I have the sense not to live in a blue state such as CA or OR, although the scenery is nice. There the long-suffering older generations are being feasted with emotional scenes and pure thuggery. This is what our future  leaders think you do when you (gasp) lose. These poorly educated and self-absorbed youth don’t have any concept of what it means to lose, having been reared within the padded walls of their left-wing indoctrination centers, once called “schools.” In these laboratories for the left, the kids aren’t given a solid foundation for life in the modern world, vicious as it is. It is mostly slogans and “actions,” and we all win!

In any  case, out there on the left coast these tree-huggers and utopianists are about to go for a ride as the west coast shears off north to south in one piece big enough to be declared the Republic of California. On the other hand, if you stay afloat you will end up Asian when you bump into China. But as a result of your apparently sovereign right to ignore immigration law, you’re well on the way to that in any event. I would be watching Japan with more than a little fear right now, Pacific ring of fire and all that. I’d be practicing Chinese.

And by the way, I absolutely would like to sign, just as a big supporter, the Calexit petition. I would also urge them to pursue another left-coast proposal, the building of a wall north to south to prevent the illicit entry of Americans into California or anywhere on the west coast. I would send in five dollars for that. I am a big fan of secession and think that the fighting of a war to prevent it was just stupid. Let’s not do it again. Let’s have a Velvet Divorce where we each share in the goodies and say good-bye. We’ll take all the guns and nukes off you, if you like — you’ll want that gun-free country you’re always talking about. You can have most of the university professors and school teachers, as well as union supporters, and don’t forget to take the ACLU! We’ll split the ports. We’ll split the states along red-blue lines or maybe we’ll have a mass population exodus if we just cut the country in half and say you get the left side, I get the right.

But I confess, the idea of a divorce really does appeal. We don’t share values or goals anymore and we really detest one another. That seems to be something we all can agree on.

Who’s on First?

We’re heading into the last lap of what has been an endless race for the GOP presidential nomination, and I’ll be darned if it doesn’t look like a contested convention (or an “open” one, per the GOP) (right). The coalescence of the anti-Trump vote is making Ted Cruz into a heavy-weight candidate who can beat Trump — but probably only in a contested election. And only if somebody can convince that bonehead Kasich to get out of the race with all one state’s worth of delegates. What we need is not a Northeast liberal (Ohio isn’t Midwest anymore) beloved of Northeast liberals. It seems (but I’m probably wrong) that the old mo-jo is no longer with Trump, but with Cruz. With each new endorsement of Cruz by a previously virulent anti-Cruzista, it becomes easier for the waverers to jump on the bandwagon. By now, Cruz is starting to look positively heroic to these people who once wanted to crucify him for standing up to a corrupt Congress controlled entirely by deal-makers. Some people suggest this support will make Cruz one of the Establishment. Poo. Just think how bad it hurts the collaborationists to push a Cruz candidacy and get happy. Cruz has the fire and the smarts to win.

So much of Trump’s heartburn these days is entirely self-inflicted. How confident do you feel when Trump swears that as soon as he’s the nominee he’s going to be absolutely respectable? It’s galling that he’s engaging in such a charade and admitting to it. Maybe he really could shoot somebody on Fifth Avenue and never lose a supporter.

The fundamental problem for Trump is that he created an almost buffoonish candidacy, one that allowed him to say and get away with saying things that could and did kill off other candidacies. (Nastiness didn’t go well with Rubio’s persona. Just as Pat Boone’s portrayal of a leather-wearing, chest-baring hoodlum ended forever his reign as America’s Sweetheart, Rubio’s shiny image couldn’t survive the self-induced wound.) Trump’s caricature of the average angry voter found such resonance with the “steaming masses” that it catapulted him over all the other candidates and all pitfalls to become the presumptive party nominee. But here’s the rub: that very persona has stuck to him like a second skin in the public eye, while to have any chance in a general election, he has to dump the skin and re-emerge as a sane and articulate man. I don’t think it can be done. I see he’s trying. But I don’t believe him.

Furthermore, Trump has fallen victim to the sin of believing the false adoration of his groupies. He really thinks he is invincible and it lures him into blathering on about subjects with which he has only a passing acquaintance, like whom to punish for hypothetically illegal abortions.  I’ve said it more than once, but it is worth repeating: Trump may be a business savant and a cultural icon but he is not a good presidential candidate and not a deep thinker. (Much like Obama, who is only a cultural icon without the thinking and business savvy.)

I frankly never saw Cruz coming out ahead of Rubio, but my normal political insight has been assaulted from all sides this electoral season. The whole political scene reads like some really crummy Hollywood comedy starring Jennifer Aniston and Zac Braff. What an unlikely and in large part unlikeable group of candidates we have been saddled with!

But now that Cruz is forging to the front, I find he is a candidate I can easily live with. And here’s an aside and a question to ponder: when did being a Constitutionalist such as the erudite Mr. Cruz become something extremist? When was the exact moment when our country tilted over from a flat plane onto the ever faster descent into social disintegration and inanity?

Back to Cruz — what I most like about him, apart from his incisive intelligence, is his calm and level-headed approach. He doesn’t rant, he doesn’t appeal to base emotions, he appeals to your intelligence and concern for the fundamental underpinnings of this republic. He can think rings around Mrs. Clinton, especially now that she is rumored to have suffered some sort of stroke that leaves her very tired, with sometimes erratic thinking. If he is the candidate, do not expect a repeat of the Romney-Obama debates. Cruz will not back down once he makes a charge, and he won’t make a charge without having good reason to make it. She will be fighting for her life with him.

But what if the Dems put their thinking caps on and decide that the old fat white broad with all the ill-gotten wealth and a history of blatant lying isn’t their best candidate? What if those super-delegates who today bolster her prospects as the party nominee start to flip and migrate to the Sanders camp? Sanders is a far better candidate than Hillary if only because he hasn’t been caught in any lies yet. His age is no more of an issue than Hillary’s. His message of “screw the rich man, feed the poor man” resonates Christ-like among America’s new socialist masses, and he has a cuddly Grandpa image about him. (You and I haven’t fallen for it, but we aren’t addle-brained.) A Sanders candidacy clearly has the heart of the left. Anything is possible. Let’s hope. Anybody could run against Hillary Clinton and I’d root for him or it.

But at the end of the day, I’m sitting right alongside the rest of the country. I haven’t got a clue who is going to be the nominee of either party.  I can’t imagine what comes next. I would have no choice but to vote for Trump despite all my serious misgivings. And looking at the most recent tied rulings in the Supreme Court that settled issues in favor of the status quo (as in forced union dues) it makes me shudder to think that the next justice could be an LGBT Asian who hates the Constitution as “old hat.” It would be so much nicer if we could just decide on somebody not Trump or Kasich and move on to the next phase of destroying the Democrat Machine and the real Establishment in November.

The Supreme Court Rewrites American Culture

I’ve been wanting for weeks to write something about that lying sticky-fingered candidate for the presidency, the Missus, but it’s a lazy summer and it has made me lazy too. Still, things around me have suddenly begun to fall apart at an alarming rate, although Americans appear oblivious. You’d get a far larger percentage of Americans who could tell you about the Kardashians latest inanities or the newest “K” for Caitlyn than can tell you why the US is not coordinating with the whole world to bring down ISIS, or why Russia is Public Enemy Number One again, not that they really care about any of those things anyway. Now I see how it was that terrible things like WWII happened. Nobody saw it coming or cared, either.

And you can be sure that most Americas are unaware that the US is now for the first time inserting itself directly on Russia’s doorstep with our heavy weapons, our materiel, our jets, our military advisers and even our troops. The risks of direct confrontation are thus exponentially greater than they were when the threat from NATO/US was less immediate. Russia will respond and is already accelerating its move away from western production of any kind of military components or devices to domestic production, as well as toward accelerated production of nuclear weapons both tactical and ballistic. They will forward base their own weapons and materiel, right there across the street from NATO.

But it is at home where the greatest damage to America is being incurred. The US Supreme Court in just a couple of decisions has attempted to rewrite western culture. With one sweep of the judicial pen, these justices have pretty much annihilated the institution of marriage, leaving in its wake some alien and absolutely malleable something that in the end will expand to include ever  more bizarre unions, all of them equally good or bad or neutral or whatever. As one of the judicial dissents on gay marriage noted, it is a predictable and foregone conclusion that the next to qualify as married will be the polygamists. He didn’t add “and after them, any combination of two or more persons (no doubt even animals and inanimate objects) including those of family members and adults and children.”

This obscenely wrong decision came right after the Court’s majority repeated its earlier derogation of duty by totally ignoring the text of the law under consideration in rendering judgment on Obamacare subsidies. In this case, the actual words of Obamacare were not rewritten, as in changing a “penalty” to a “tax.” They avoided the problem of very clear text they opposed by deciding not to rely on text as a basis for their analysis, opting instead to divine the “intent” of those hundreds of legislators who wrote and passed the bill. As if there were one single intent, like a bee hive or an ant hill, which is what the leftists running the asylum would have us be, in a perfect world (the same one where communism is the perfection of socialism). John Roberts could just be called a traitor; or even suspected of being a blackmail victim; but then he voted the next day to uphold traditional marriage. I guess it’s better to call him crazy. Maybe it was the head problem he had. Maybe as a result it isn’t always John Roberts on the bench, but maybe, sometimes, Teddy Roosevelt or Jesus Christ himself.

We all know what is coming. The left is baying for blood — stop tax exceptions for the religious! Silence the anti-gay right! Shut down the churches, hound the believers out. This is totally nuts. The do-gooders of the Court have opened the gates to hell.

They are joined in their perfidies by the US Congress, those spineless corrupt traitors to the American people. The latest insult and injury is that GOP leaders have ignored vociferous bipartisan public objections to both the secrecy of the TPP treaty text and the wheeling and dealing going on (again behind closed doors). Part I of this screw-you-America legislation has already successfully cleared the hurdle of Congressional approval and now gives the President the right to “fast-track” trade negotiations. What’s the damned rush about? The secrecy shrouding this bill is a repeat of the “considerations” that preceded imposing Obamacare on an unwilling nation. It is absolutely unacceptable and a violation of the public trust. What are we doing about it, then? Not a thing.

The GOP leadership all got big donations at the time they were pushing the legislation. I’m sure you’ll find the exact same situation on the Democrat side. It’s all about power and money. It’s my new mantra: power and money, power and money. It explains everything.

Speaking of power, money and corruption: those emails are keeping Hillary busy making up stories or steadfastly ignoring the news as she tools around the US presenting herself, the owner of her very own e-mail server, as Everywoman. If we had an opposition leadership in DC we’d be wiping up the floor with the self-righteous but sinister Mrs. Clinton and her list of suspected felonies. Instead we have a bunch of self-interested valueless men who sell themselves as pragmatic. This business of the server may in fact bring her down, even if only Trey Gowdy wants to do so. She did not turn over all her work-related emails to the State Department or to the US Congress under subpoena. She withheld, at a minimum, relevant Benghazi emails. In addition, those emails she sent that contained not one confidential thing were riddled with confidential information. The US Department of State, trying to cover its ass, has actually now given the correct classification and redacted the emails sent to Congress. (The upside of confessing that you failed in your institutional duties by allowing valuable and sensitive information to be sent daily on an insecure server is that you don’t have to let Congress see what Mrs. Clinton was saying.) Even the White House ignored her use of a private server, apparently sharing the Secretary’s blasé attitude toward national security. The State Department is now looking thoroughly politicized and incompetent.

As for the Republicans, they’ve been an across-the-board failure at anything other than playing to their interests. They haven’t succeeded in or seriously attempted to make good on anything promised in 2012. They have played hard-ball only with their own members, in particular those who think the words of the Constitution mean something, like Justice Scalia. They seem to think the public is an ass. They work hand-in-glove with the Democrats in Congress to satisfy the same money/power sectors and the will of the rest of us is worth bupkis. Among the presidential aspirants, I’m a Rand Paul supporter, but I also love Ted Cruz. Unfortunately, the Machine has its own candidate and as in recent past elections, their choice will win and it will be Pablum Redux. Then the question will be, how many who feel betrayed and ignored within their own party will stay home or vote for somebody else? How many will decide they really have wasted enough votes on Dem Lite? I can’t believe those fools in the RNC haven’t figured out what’s coming.

On the Glory of Free Expression

Our younger generations don’t even know what freedom of expression is or means. That’s because they hardly ever hear a contrary voice throughout their school years and if they do, that voice is quickly silenced by peer disapproval and teacher discipline. Lenny Bruce, the foul-mouthed lefty who lived and breathed to shock hum-drum 1950s America with his harsh comedy, or the women who demanded a vote, or the homosexual who was openly who he was — they were acts that taught us the meaning of freedom to say or express whatever you like. It meant having to listen to these horses’ asses yammering at us even when we would have loved for somebody to shut them up. And we respected that right, knowing that someday we might need its protection as well.

Poor kids. Today  Lenny Bruce is the principal in their elementary school and actively discourages kids from pledging allegiance to any flag, especially that of the oppressive US. His teacher’s union is headed by the woman who demanded the vote and now wants to marry her girlfriend, the one who loses no chance to drum into the little kids’ brains that sex has nothing to do with what is between their legs and men are oppressors. His Boy Scout leader is a gay blade who accompanies the little boys to summer camp and plays with them to his heart’s content. (Why didn’t Michael Jackson volunteer as a Boy Scout leader? I bet he thought about it.)

And what about all those other people, the ones who disagree with the officially-acceptable point of view? Aren’t they allowed to speak their minds? Don’t we get the protection of the first amendment?

Well, in a word, no.

A straight baker must bake a cake celebrating a homosexual union the baker deeply feels to be a perversion and a sin. But a gay baker may refuse to decorate a cake stating “marriage is an act between one man and one woman,” a legal point of view held by numerous states, because it is offensive to him. A US flag flown by a vet in a condo complex has to be taken down; but Mexican illegals, in our schools at our expense, can fly the Mexican flag at school, wear it on their clothes, and hoist it pretty much anywhere. They can also fly the US flag upside down. In our prisons, the taxpayers are getting socked with the cost of making creepy convict males into even creepier convict females. Just consider that oh-so-creepy Cpl. Manning. (And Chelsea! I guess they look alike.) Soon it will be illegal for any church to preach that homosexuality goes against God’s law. I’m guessing a Department of Indoctrination is in the offing.

And when was the last time you recall the scientific community uniting with one voice to condemn the manipulative and deceptive practices of the eco-fanatics? Where is the letter from the NSF to the world, decrying efforts to silence and even punish anybody who scoffs at the prophecies of impending disaster we are tormented with at every turn?

How about religion in general? Atheists, trans-gendered no doubt, don’t want that religious crap anywhere, not in the US capital and not in your home, if you want to know the truth. And religion doesn’t hold much sway anymore, or so its seems given the various sects’ supine acceptance of the assault on them. I wonder how the Supreme Court will rule on homosexual marriage: will they uphold that First Amendment right that gives religion its special protections from assault by government, that specifically enumerated and deeply considered right; or will they ignore that right and create a new one out of whole-cloth, a right that, if put to the founders, would have found universal rejection as any such thing. Will they create a right that then seriously impinges on freedom of religion by making certain doctrines anathema and forcing churches instead to recognize homosexuality and the unions of homosexuals? Will pastors who oppose homosexual marriage be forced to marry two women or men anyway? I am absolutely certain, if this is how it goes, the  next step will be polygamy, then human and other. But let’s be brutally frank, as long as I’m expressing my opinions: marriage isn’t worth a plug nickel anymore anyway. It has already been deeply degraded by the left-wing gay rights agenda that includes the destruction of that institution and has become so au courant that the Republican elite has adopted it as their own, as well. Ask Ken Mehlman, our gay ex-GOP party chairman.

And God forbid that anybody should question the bona fides of a person with the right colored skin (anything but white). If you ask why Obama has been such a destructive force in the White House, accelerating the fall of the great American nation, it is because you are a racist. If you think that the Hispanic George (Jorge) Zimmerman was right to shoot that vicious little thug Trayvon Martin, you are a racist. If you think Al Sharpton is a lying, greedy and wicked provocateur who lines his pockets on other people’s problems, then you are a racist.

And now comes the female and womanly part of the “no freedom of expression zone.” Hillary Clinton. When the male GOP candidate goes up against her, he’d best pull no punches and go relentlessly after this corrupt and contemptible woman for all her underhanded dealings. If he shows any inclination to fall back to defense, the media whores of the Democrat Party will crucify him. Every word pronounced will be considered for its potential, even likely, sexism. So don’t make them look for it, give it to them. When you’re at a barbecue, gush how you love a hotdog and a bun, not two buns or two hotdogs, but precisely one hotdog and one bun!

I, for one, don’t intend to shut up voluntarily. I will go to my grave calling things the way I see them and rebutting the inane and lame arguments of the opposing camp. If all they have to say in return is “shut up,” I guess, like Lenny Bruce, I’ll keep on handing it out to those brainwashed Americans.

Ruminations on the Global Socialist Education Conspiracy

killing libertyI’ve been searching the signs and portents over the past few weeks and I can’t find anything to cheer about. The one issue, out of so many, that caught my greatest interest is the news that the US Supreme Court is considering whether to take on the case of the Romeike family who fled Germany to escape draconian State laws prohibiting home schooling. In the past and for Americans, the Romeike plight would have been merely a footnote in the annals of history, just another case of how twisted a value system the EU propagates. Unfortunately, it becomes not a footnote but a whole story unto itself when we consider that the only reason the Romeikes are still in the news is that the inaptly named US Department of Justice has decided they agree with the EU on home schooling. At least that is how I am interpreting the regime’s prosecutorial zeal in suing to overturn a lower court decision granting this family asylum on grounds of persecution and certainty of prosecution if returned to their home country.

controlHere is a recap of the battle so far: the Romeikes Sr. object to the social content of German education in public schools, inasmuch as portions of what is being taught or even propagated (i.e. homosexuality) go against their religious beliefs. They have given their children an excellent education in other mandated (scholastic) areas and the kids test very well. But here’s the problem: it seems that a Nazi law enacted in the 1930s to ensure the State absolute control of the minds of Germany’s youth prohibits home schooling. There was nothing more dangerous to the Nazis than some dissenting parent passing on ideas pernicious to the Third Reich. Unlike the Hitlerian dictates on racial purification, after the war the Nazi system of state thought control was left in place. First the post-war Germans used the law to eradicate from the young all Nazi sentiments and thoughts and then they used the public school system to indoctrinate children in socialist and progressivist philosophy. By forcing everybody into the same heavily policed political correctness, the State can avoid disruptive dissent. I can’t figure out what the difference is between those war-time Germans who pounded Nazi thoughts and values into the children’s heads and today’s modernists. It seems as if both generations supported the idea that the State must not merely educate, but indoctrinate.

Under the German law, parents who refuse to send their kids to public school can be fined, prosecuted and imprisoned, and they can lose custody of their kids, too. This is not a scare story. In December 2013, a German judge allowed a home-schooling couple’s children to be released from State custody with a warning to put them in a public school and not try fleeing to a country where home education is allowed. If they violated his orders, he vowed to chase them down and prosecute. Good old Germany. It may be enforcing a whole set of perverted values, but it is doing it to the full extent of the law. As the French say, the more things change, the more they remain the same.

After the Romeike’s showed up in the US as visitors, they claimed asylum on grounds of persecution. And the original court of hearing agreed and granted asylum. Here is where our own Neo-Totalitarians come in. Eric Holder’s Justice Department decided perhaps for the first time ever in US history to sue to overturn the granting of asylum. The USG is using our tax dollars to fund a campaign of persecution against Christians who refuse to allow the brainwashing of their children into an alien ideology. The Justice Department says it agrees with the EU and that all the German officials were doing was following orders. Or maybe they said, “following the law.”  It doesn’t matter — it was the same excuse Nazis used to dodge responsibility for the death-camps, or sheriffs used in the US to persecute people for the color of their skin. Just because a law exists doesn’t mean it is just. Ask Eric Holder, who used force to take over a university building because of “political” objections to that administration. He didn’t care much for US law then, and between you and me, he doesn’t today, either.

Immigration (ICE) most recently has argued that the U.S. government, too, has the authority to simply prohibit homeschooling, and that this fact should disqualify the granting of asylum to the Romeikes.  ICE further noted that Judge Burman “did not address how under various state laws of the United States a person can be similarly prosecuted for not sending one’s children to school.” This is, of course, a red herring. A parent can be punished for not providing an education to his or her children, or not providing one that meets state academic standards, but not because they don’t go to a public school. And they cannot be prosecuted for teaching moral principles in line with their faith. That is the real issue in the Romeike case.

rpualThis is a case of violation of freedom of conscience as well as freedom of religion in its broadest sense. The Romeikes came to America legally as visitors but actually were escaping the false choice offered them by German authorities: turn over your responsibility for your children’s lives and minds, give up your religious convictions, or face the legal consequences. The authorities were not satisfied that the Romeike children were in fact being educated, in accordance with a 1918 law making education mandatory. They relied instead on that much more convenient Nazi law. The difference between the two laws in question is that one encourages education and the other encourages State indoctrination. In resisting State indoctrination, the churning out of that one-mind mass that makes it easy for the State to rule, the Romeikes took on the foundations of modern European society. In today’s Europe, the one thing that is unforgivable is non-conformity. The State rules, the State forms the ideas, and the State makes all the choices. Sounds a lot like old Europe, doesn’t it, only the parameters by which one is judged have been turned on their head.

Ambassador Thomas Schirrmacher, Director of the International Institute for Religious Freedom, points out that  [N]early a dozen major human rights documents and treaties, including the 1948 Universal Declaration on Human Rights, recognize how important the role of parental decision-making is in the education of children and that free governments must recognize and respect this important right. As Ambassador Schirrmacher points out, the actions of the EU violate that premise. But that isn’t a problem for modern government. In the EU, they celebrate territorial integrity and the right to self-determination side by side, but in reality they only support the right to self-determination. Same when it comes to parental rights — they stop where the State says “Stop,” which could be at the cradle or even in utero. Contradictions are not a problem in modern government; all you have to do is ignore them.

I don’t really care what they do in Europe. I care what happens here. Do we really have to create an underground society to live in freedom — or is there any hope left in this country that was once a beacon to freedom? I think there are many millions of Americans even now pondering what lies ahead and what our choices might be. But one thing is certain: as goes freedom of religion, so go all the freedoms our Constitution recognizes. We are either going to give them away under threat or in exchange for false freedoms, like the freedom of total sexual hedonism, or we are going to keep them, no matter what.

I know where I stand.

On Violence: Man Against Man, Government Against All

statue 1I’m going to write today about our rapidly developing autocracy (Government for  The People, By the Vanguard) and our unraveling society. I will add my two cents  to the words flowing from the figurative pens of every other political  commentator in America, even if it seems a waste of time to express my views when others are saying the same things and far more eloquently. But sometimes  you write or speak not because your voice is unique, but because you want to be part of a chorus of anger and outrage.

Harried by the Mob: Knockout and Other Violent Amusements of America’s Youth

flash mobI greatly enjoyed the  movie Hunger Games. It was a spell-binding yarn about the dispossessed and disempowered scoring against the masters who control their lives. The main theme of the book (and film) is the tyranny of the winners over the losers, the strong over the weak, the rich over the poor. But there is another subtext, and it is violence. The tyrants use violence in Hunger Games they way the Romans used it in the arena, to give the downtrodden something to live for — a huge dose of surrogate cruelty that stirs the blood and makes all your suffering somehow worthwhile, because there — down there in the arena — is somebody whose life is worse than your own. Not only that, but the Emperor generously gives you the right to determine whether the man in the pit lives or dies a gruesome death. The crowds had a lot of resentment to work off and it was the lucky gladiator who got out alive. Yes, the Romans had a perfect social pacifier, giving the masses free bread, clean water and the chance to watch somebody torn limb from limb on a weekly basis. It kept their system going for centuries.

I wonder if we have progressed at all from Roman times. Obviously we have technologically: what wouldn’t the Roman lords have given for instant communication and automated killing machines? Such things would have made it much easier for them to keep the discontented down and out. What I’m thinking about is character. Have we reached a point where we really respect other human beings and their private space and their basic rights, or is it all just more propaganda from the people with power? When the government itself doesn’t respect individual rights and only selectively punishes its citizens’ violations of individual rights, the very concept of “rights” begins to erode dangerously.

Have you heard about the latest rage, which is called knockout? It’s a simple game played by black youths that appeals even to those — or perhaps especially to those — with only marginal functioning intelligence. All it requires is a mob and a zeal for inflicting pain on people with the wrong skin color. In an article published on the WND website, Thomas Sowell writes that this “knockout game” has been played for years by young black gangs in other  cities and other states, against people besides Jews – the victims being either whites in general or people of Asian ancestry. Sowell also mentions that in some of the cities where this gang violence is popular, the participants call it Polar Bear Hunting in a reference to the color of the victims.

The New Arena is not a specific place, but all around us on the streets of our towns and cities. Teenagers mingle in crowds, zero in on those looking particularly vulnerable (the elderly, mothers with children, invalids), and then without warning crash forcefully into the chosen victims with their bodies. The sudden violent jolt knocks the victim to the ground. Goal!  Three of the victims of this game in three different cities have died from their injuries; in one case the victim died from head injuries when his head struck a curb and went straight through the bars of a bicycle rack. Oh, joy! The player in that case no doubt got one million bonus points for causing grave injury or death as well as despair to the surviving family. One hopes he also got a long stretch in prison.

Then we have flash mobs. I’m not referring to the all-race flash mobs of unsupervised kids running out the door to dance and party or do something non-violent, but to malicious mobs of black youths summoned for deliberate criminal acts, often assaults on whites that involve considerably more violent methods than knocking somebody off their feet. I’m talking about the mobs that converge on stores to destroy, loot and pillage or to beat somebody to death.  Here’s a snippet from Wikipedia:

Referred to as “flash robs,” “flash mob crimes,” “crime mobs,” or “flash mob violence” by the media, these mobs start with the intent or lead to the destruction of private property, robbery, violence, and personal injury. Mark Leary, a professor of psychology and neuroscience at Duke University, said, “the illegal and violent component is also not unlike ordinary crimes where a group of people do something illegal. What social media adds is the ability to recruit such a large group of people that individuals who would not rob a store or riot on their own feel freer to misbehave without being identified.

No surprise there, right? Mobs act just like…mobs. A  mob has no conscience. A mob has nothing but an appetite for violence. The scary thing is, mobs are no longer seen as the mindless hives of miscreants that they are, but have become fashionable and provoke hardly a whimper of protest from the mainstream media. Or at any rate, black mobs have become fashionable; a bunch of white guys in pointed hoods would not win the same silence from the media that those “mobs of color” have enjoyed. Here is what Lawyers.com has to say about it:

In 2011, flash mobs gathered in cities across the country and wreaked havoc. For the most part, the mobs were made up of teenagers, and they committed all sorts of crimes, from shoplifting to assault to robbery. For example:

  • In Philadelphia, flash mobs assaulted pedestrians and vandalized property. One participant pled guilty to aggravated assault for beating and stabbing a bicyclist. He faces 5 to 20 years in prison.
  • Flash mobs in Chicago are responsible for robberies and assaults, and even causing a McDonald’s restaurant to close for several hours.
  • In St. Paul, Minnesota, flash mobs targeted convenient stores, stealing whatever they could and fleeing before police could respond.

And then we have another manifestation of the thirst for violence among our youths: black and sometimes Hispanic gangs — not quite mobs — that rove America’s streets specifically looking for a defenseless white person to traumatize, torture, rape or murder. Here are some news items collated by MartinLutherKing.com (which also offered the lyrics of rap songs that urge their listeners to violence against whites):

In Denver, a white female teenager, Brandy Duval, is raped, sodomized, tortured with a broomstick and stabbed 28 times by a gang of six blacks and Hispanics. Her skull is caved in and corpse dumped into a ditch.

In Killeen, Texas, a white couple, Todd and Stacy Bagley are kidnapped on the way to church, lit on fire, burned to death and shot in the head by four blacks.

In Flint, Michigan, three white teenagers, Michael Carter, Dustin Kaiser and (girl’s name withheld by police) are attacked by six black youths. Carter is shot and killed. Kaiser is beaten and shot in the head, but recovers. The girl is forced to perform oral sex on her black attackers, pistol whipped and shot in the face.

In Jacksonville, Florida, a mentally retarded white man, Gregory Griffith, is beaten and stomped unconscious by blacks and died a few days later. The blacks admitted to the police beating Griffith because “he was white.”

I won’t bother to reprint the black rap lyrics, which would be merely spreading the poison. If you are interested in knowing what messages are being beamed out to America’s minority youths, you can check out Black Rappers Call on Blacks to Murder and Rape Whites at MartinLutherKing.com.

I have to wonder where the heads of the left-wing social engineers are lodged. This country is becoming a cauldron of racial animosity and race-related violence, this time with the blacks leading the charge, and many of this country’s leaders (and I mean Democrat leaders in first order) want to outlaw guns. Those rap songs talk about stabbing whitey, too. How about outlawing knives? Then we could all be using the plastic forks and knives they dole out to patients in a psychiatric institute, which would be appropriate to the asylum we are becoming.

When are we going to come to grips with the fact that hate speech and the hate feelings that inspire it are alive and well in America and growing in popularity? This isn’t about mass killers, often white and often young, who are off their rockers and on the loose because we don’t have a system to get them timely help. Their rage is color-blind and they kill anybody of any age and sex who happens to be in their line of fire. These violent amusements involve people who know better. As individuals, they would probably not engage in violent assaults, but they are freed from societal stigma when their crimes are committed under the umbrella of a mob. And they are encouraged by the failure of our media and our nation’s highest leaders to stand up and say this must stop. Where is that fount of wisdom and peace, Barack Obama, who has no problem flailing out at white racists? The silence about what is happening is an invitation to the beasts on the prowl to continue.

violent gamesYou would think that all these years after society said a resounding no to racially inspired violence, we would have left such things behind us. But it seems we are doomed to go down clawing each other’s eyes out. And our society is conspiring in it, feeding the urge to kill with games and music and movies and tv shows that make it all look so easy and so satisfying. How hard is it to grasp that giving kids a game whose sole point is to unleash hostility through simulated violence is likely to increase the chances that the kid, having grown bored with the fake stuff, will look for a chance to try it out in real life? How about those movies that are blowing guts and gore into the very souls of our children? In America, the blatant disrespect for the basic rights of the individual, chief among them the right to life, has become an epidemic. And if it isn’t stopped, it will spread until there really is a race war in the United States. And all the bogus “hate laws” that protect only certain groups and not everybody, and that focus on the incidental and not the fundamental, will not stop it.
